I have a serious question to ask, especially the people that deny GOD.. What accomplishment is going to prevent calamity in a science book?
I am well versed in Earthquakes living in California all my life.. The POINT is earthquakes especailly the ones becoming very active right now on the RING OF FIRE can destroy life in a matter of seconds The extreme weather conditions right now are killing people daily...The Information age has been able a way for the world to know GOD, and the salvation of Jesus Christ and that is when Jesus said all hell would break out on earth..

My question is why you don't seeme to have any concern about the world getting worse and people dying from the extreme weather.. My concern is they are right with GOD before they die and the end comes..

You're a loon.

I've bit my tongue about it, and now I've seen so many stupid evolution links that I just don't care anymore.

Earthquakes have always been around. When a plate moves, earthquakes happen. Simple.

The Earth has gone through this many times in the past. Earth cycles through times of relative calm and destruction. There have been worse earthquakes, tidal waves and storms in the past. Today's events don't mean it's the end of the world. Almost every generation of man has claimed that they were in the "end of days" It is just a way for them to find validity in what they believe. I for one would rather live a good life and find peace within myself than a fictional character. If there is a god and it is the Christian version, then I am sure he will be so loving as to understand he made me this way, and I was just playing my role in his "greater plan."

Excuse me, but what does the ring of fire, earthquakes and other inevitable, disastrous acts of nature, have anything to do with God? You're absolutely right - human life is fragile and there are many, many bigger forces out there that could destroy every aspect of our existence in a matter of seconds.

Coming to terms with your God or any God won't make any difference, because either way, someone's going to die a tragic and horrible death - whether they're an atheist or a Christian, a Pagan or a Jew. Nobody's going to survive the clutches of Mother Earth when natural disasters occur, and simply because you believe you'll be saved by it because you believe in God, doesn't make it true.

You believe it - you think it's true, but that doesn't mean it pertains to everyone. Please, don't shove your beliefs down my throat - I have teeth.

Your "logic" gets weaker every day. Not only are your chicken little claims all bogus, they are direct evidence against your anti-science arguments. In case you haven't noticed, sweetie, the scientists have been the ones trying to convince GWB and his religious right ilk of global warming. Where is your evidence of worsening earthquakes? Today's 4.5 magnitude quake in Chatsworth (I have lived in So Cal all my life, too.) was the first in a year or two in that area above background seismicity. Your "knowledge" is inaccurate.

You claim the Information Age has been a way to spread your propaganda.. Actually, it has simply made you more aware of what has always been happening so you can scare you little self into believing the "end times" are near. In your case, the previous ignorance was bliss. For us, too, because we didn't have to hear your hysteria.

Crimmsonan, Jesus is coming back again. Nearly all the signs leading up to his return has already been fulfilled. Check out Matthew 24 and 25. We will also witness more calamities prior to the return of Christ.

I am very concerned about the environment, the question is are you? I'm concerned about future generations here, instead of focusing on some fantasy after life. I put my efforts in to doing what I can in my own small way to help the planet for future generations. I hope you are recycling at least.

I thought it was mostly Christians who didn't want to do anythign about global warming.

Weather now isn't really much worse than it's ever been, though the damage from a bad storm is worse now that the population is larger.

If your god could be shown to prevent earthquakes, I'm sure plenty of humanists would use whatever means are necessary to stop them.

The people who seem the least concerned are the religious fundamentals. I don't know why religious fundamentals "don't seem to have any concern about the world getting worse, and people dying from extreme weather," other than they're looking forward to the rapture.

Hmm..how can science prevent calamity?

How about germ theory for starters. Medicines, organic chemistry, food processing technology, fertilizers, etc...

Stop accusing atheists of not caring. We're the ones who think this is all we have.

Your concern is that they are right with God? Well, good for you. Stop posting on Yahoo answers and spread the word.
