I live as I please, have never commited a crime, and take care of my family. I do not believe any of the religions to be true. My personal life is my own business and would probably be enough to send some of you to therapy. If someone wishes to discuss religion, I'm all for that. If someone wants to preach at me, and does not stop when I tell them to, they're paid for. I value life more than most of those who actually wrote the scriptures, but will lose no sleep over taking it away in the right circumstances. I respect those who show respect, and consider those who do not show common courtesy less than dogs. I believe that if there is a hell, it is reserved for religious people who drive others away from their religion through their own ignorance. I also believe that the majority of the population doesn't have the intellect to discuss emotional issues rationally. I still don't understand why anyone would push their beliefs to the point of destroying any interest the listener may have.

Those who killed or died for freedom, did it so that not only could you practice whatever religion you prefer, but so that others could have freedom from religion.

I have respect of all persons, but will not sit here and shove God down your throat just as I expect you not to shove no God down my throat, your statement could be said for all those who are Religious and those who are not that act in this behavior{ and yes there are Non-Believers who show their ignorance in pushing the no God Theory down people's throats}

In this statement we could say that Respect is even due to a Dog, thus you have your opinion and I have mine, but we agree to disagree

You said you have a family. You have experienced the joys being a parent. If you found someone that thought having a family is too much work for any sane individual, that had all the wrong ideas about a functional family because they grew up in a dis-functional one, wouldn't you want to set them straight and tell them how great having a family could be? That is our view. I have experienced God and I can honestly tell you He is awesome. I would like you to experience Him. Now, you are correct some people try to shove it down your throat, and that should not be done. But they do have a reason for doing it. If they don't, they shouldn't be doing it. But don't not listen to the message because of the messenger. I would love to show you how awesome God is.

As christians, we don't want anyone going to hell. I am glad you believe there is a hell, it's true. But the people that go to hell are the ones that die without knowing their Savior, Jesus. He came to the cross and gave everything away, I can't imagine someone doing that, giving everything they have and going against everyone just to die for me. But He did, because He truly loves us and wants us to go to heaven with Him. Can you imagine someone actually not sinning at all, and being tempted all the time? And can you imagine that perfect person dying for you? well that's exactly what Jesus did, and that's why we christians care for you, because if you don't get to know Jesus you will surely go to hell. Hope that helps.

I've noticed a general lack of guidance in evangelical circles for growing Christians to engage their individual spiritual gifts in a meaningful, positive and productive ways. I've also noticed that in the oh so many calls to go out and make disciples, there is a hidden message of fear that God is going to "get" both us & them.

The lack of direction plus the fear causes some to act in anti-social ways when we are in fact called to act in love. It sounds like some Christians have forgotten about the words of Jesus, who called us to love one another.

I think you might be a little confused about something. I'm not interested in any of your business.

That being said, this is a question and answer forum. When people asks questions about God or Jesus or the bible, people such as myself, who base their beliefs on the bible, answer them. Doesn't mean you have to believe anything that is said.

Please stop implying that merely answering questions constitutes anything being "pushed" at you.

Christians were commanded by God to spread the Gospel and witness to the non-believers. That's what your life - and your after-life - have to do with me.

Not all Christians are pushy and narrow-minded, but I'm sorry those are the ones who seem to be ministering to you.

Hell is for hypocrites as you said. However, you cannot earn your way into heaven by your good works. We've all fallen short. The only way to heaven is to receive forgiveness for our bad works. Jesus did that for you. Accepting Him is the only way. Otherwise, your falling short will have no end in eternity because the pit is bottomless.
