Archeologists found that a major portion of the theory has come into major question after a recent find.

Any thoughts of how to reconcile this or does evolution theory have a hole?

This isn't meant to show, HAHA you guys are wrong but more to tell those people who say that evolution isn't a theory its a fact, that it is still a theory, a decent one but still a THEORY!!

I'm a creationist and Christian, so I believe the archaeologists can dig through to the Earth's inner core and will never find something that supports the theory of evolution lol. If evolution really did occur, why are we as humans and animals not still mutating to a "higher' level? Why is the pond scum still there and not evolving into humans and different animals? If simple cells did evolve into humans and evvverything on earth, who created those cells and simple organisms from the start? I believe God and the bible.

Hello,

The whole idea with scientific theory is to make some sort of model which explains how various things work. This goes from evolution to stellular mechanics and plate tectonics to relativity. Occasionally new data or anomalies come up and you try and see how they fit into the scheme of things. After testing and examining they will either throw a wrench into the whole mechanism and destroy the model or further strengthen it.

"Surprising research based on two African fossils suggests our family tree is more like a wayward bush with stubby branches, challenging what had been common thinking on how early humans evolved."

This opening abstract statement says nothing about evolutionary theory being wrong or ready to be trashed. It just says in some cases it is more random and complex than previously thought, ie the theory and tree model still stand.

Cheers,

Michael.

It shows that science is forever searching for answers. A million times more is known to science than was known just a hundred years ago.
I certainly would not call this new discovery as earthshaking as you make it out to be. It's quite obvious that all the homos mentioned are no longer with us, except sapiens. Every discovery shows the great work and knowledge of our scientists.
Million year-old clues are few and far between. The jig-saw puzzle is scattered far and wide. It takes time.

As Paul write to the Corinthians, "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, . . ." Archaeologists do their best to understand, based on what they know, at any given time. Just like Theologians.

Like excavations of Masada, or Holy places in the Holy land, a 2,000 or 3,000 year-old site gives up its secrets slowly, dimly.

When dealing with 2,000,000, year-old bones, the secrets are even more difficult to find and understand.

Just like the presence of God, non-believers may not understand or believe, but the secrets are there to be found and understood when excavating million-year bones -- the ancient patriarchs of Abraham.

Godspeed.

Evolution is a fact. The proof is that we are here. The theory of how is happened is open to change.

Evolutionist are like Dispensationalist. They will just re-theorize the whole process like they have done for the last 150 years. They won't give up on it ever. Hal Lindsey has revised his "Late Great Planet Earth" book (about the rapture and tribulation and such) about 3 times already cause things changed.

That's 6 posts within an hour by my count.

Read the article. This further clarifies the process of human evolution from earlier primates. It does not refute it.

let's for one second say that article disproves evolution - which it didn't. it still would't be proof of a god of any type. it'd be like me saying 1+1 does equal 3 therefore the answer must be four.
