I just recently got a BMW 3 series 2002. It is a two door and is cute and nice but I feel very impractical in it and am nervous driving it because I feel like I am an ant driving around in it compared to my Honda Accord I used to have. I am considering selling it and getting a cheaper Honda Passport which I drove and really liked. This would be a cash purchase and would free me of my car payment. Although, I will likely loose 2000-3000 on the BMW just from driving it off the lot. Is that crazy or practical? I think I am driving my husband nuts.

the answer would be , no. you are not nuts, you are driving a car that will depreciate a lot faster than a Honda. albeit, the BMW is more expensive, leaving you with little choice as far as money is concerned. also the cost of repair on a BMW is really high, verse Honda. so the answer you already have, you like the passport better, and the your loss of 2- 3 grand is less then the long term depriciating loss on a honda.

second point to your question, you should NEVER pay cash for a car. thier are always low rates available to the general public that far exceede the depriciating value of you money. i.e. keep your money in a svings account , even 1.5 % on you money beets the average rate cherged by the banks because the car depriciates faster than the interest rate you are paying for the loancharges over the term. thats a fact.

Well, you're not nuts, but if you make your husband nuts, you will become nuts. Both of you will be nuts.

If you like the Honda, buy the Honda. That, of course, begs the question of why you bought the Bimmer in the first place.

OK -- you are nuts.

You should be driving a car that you like regardless of cost. However, that is easy for me to say, you are not my wife.
