How do I make a signature? I am new at this, and do not know how to do anything. You can go to my profile and email me.
But I need someone to tell me how to do it Step by Step.

This tutorial is for photoshop elements but I used it to create a basic signature for a photo with Gimp.

If you google search create a signature with gimp you will get a list of tuts, mostly for forums, most tuts are hard to follow but with practice you can create any type of signature you want.
Have fun gimping :)

Gimp is a real booger to learn, in my experience! The docs are hard to read (heck! even hard to download and install for that matter!) and I'm tempted to buy the book but on the other hand I'm afraid I want to look at it first before I commit big bucks...so I know where you're comin' from!

My tendency would be, if you have an all-in-one printer or any other type of scanner, make a really careful scan of a signature, and pull it in as a jpg or bmp (controlling how you scan it with your scanning software). For example, on my HP printer, I have options that make it scan as jpg, or bmp, or tif, or...whatever...and I can tell the printer where to put the file.

Then, call up the file in Gimp and...do whatever.
