I do not think it is fair that big or untoned people can wear anything they want to work and slim people with nice curvy bodies can't. Today my department is having an award achievement ceremony and I have on a beautiful dress that is sleeveless but goes to my ankles. Sort of like a long maxi dress. I look gorgeous and I received alot of compliments but then my supervisor brings me into her office and says that I need to wear a sweater. Why? I have nice toned muscluar arms. People at my job wear sleeveless shirts all the time but they have flabby arms and short skirts with fat legs and no one says anything to them.

What's up with that? Is the workforce jealous of fit people?

Well not anything- but a big person can wear a similar outfit to the fit person and the fit person will get havoc.

No Courtnei- you are wrong. If you read you will see that we are having an award ceremony- a formal occasion and I am wearing a formal dress.

My supervisor really isn't my supervisor, she is just head of secretaries and at one point we did not get along. I never speak to her a day in my life. I do not dress this dressy everyday but she still looks at my with green eyes.

I am just asking a question and to see if anyone else felt the same way.

PS. I work damn hard for my body.

And those fat people do not get spoken to. They wear it everyday. And you can go sleeveless according to the clothing policy, just not strapless or tank top. I clearly read the policy before wearing anything to work,

Yes, the workforce can be jealous of fit people. I've worked in an environment like that before. It didn't matter what I wore, I was always in the "principals office" (it felt juvenile like that) for wearing the wrong thing even though others were wearing similar clothing day after day. I even got in trouble over my shoes....ridiculous! I got really irritated one day and one of my co-workers suggested I wear mismatched clothing to work and see if anyone said anything. So I started wearing mismatched clothes, like stripes on top and plaid or print on the bottom, and mismatched socks. Guess what? They said nothing, apparently it wasn't against the rules. Crazy, eh?

Just like your supervisor pulled you into her office, others may be getting private conversations from their bosses as well, you just don't know about it.
Likewise, other supervisors might have more lenient dress policies than yours (ie. some might enforce company dress code while others don't. )
It also seems that you are slightly body-image focused (you immediately reduce an issue about dress policy to a matter of weight) so maybe your supervisor thought your were flaunting your body - which is inappropriate in the work place.
Either way, if it really bothers you, you should talk to your supervisor if you think you are being treated unfairly.

because no matter what they wear they still look fat. if your skinny, a shirt can effect the way you look ten folds. but on a larger person they many just appear the same. also i think people are afraid to tell the fat people what they look like they dont want to cause an emotional breakdown

This issue most likely came up because of the amount of attention that your good looks caused. The compliments are good, but I guarentee is has caused jealosy among your co-workers, and things where said.

Because you can't say anything to fat people anymore. It turns into discrimination because of their "disability."
