Here is The Message version of that...

22Just take a look at Zion, will you?
Centering our worship in festival feasts! Feast your eyes on Jerusalem,
a quiet and permanent place to live. No more pulling up stakes and moving on,
no more patched-together lean-tos. Instead, God! God majestic, God himself the place
in a country of broad rivers and streams, But rivers blocked to invading ships,
off-limits to predatory pirates. For God makes all the decisions here. God is our king.
God runs this place and he'll keep us safe.

Truthfully, this really has little to do with romance, unless he is saying how much God "loves" His creation.

Given that the work is third person, the intent of the author was probably to give the reader insight into the views of the narrator, setting a tone for the benefit of the readers. By using devices such as this one the author manages to convey an atmosphere of veneration by the narrator for the primary God character.

Very simply put.....read it over again and it explains itself. The Lord is the only one that can judge us rightfully. You even hear that in some songs and people say it all the time. Only God can judge me. When it is time for the Lord to return and take his children to heaven.....you will meet your maker face to face and he will judge you on the life that you have lived. He is also our lawmaker because of the 10 commandments. They are NOT the 10 rules of advice....they are the 10 COMMANDMENTS. The Lord commands you to love only one God. To honor your parents. To not murder, covet, or steal. And so on and so forth. The Lord is THE King and the only one that a person of faith should have to answer to. There is only one thing that will save you from this life and that is God.

Well first off buddha is in the grave and Jesus Christ has risen, so our God is real. The message means what it says, God will judge us, God set's the rules (law), and HE is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. Please though listen to you boyfriend and dont believe in something that is not true. Jesus died for all of us and than rose 3 days later, buddha did w/e and is still in the grave.

Yes, referring to the love of Jesus Christ for his bride.
Chapter 33 speaks of God's protection of the church (the bride). It speaks of the time when Isaiah is living, the time when Christ would manifest and time present. Now, when Christ has returned unseen to be cloned in the hearts of those who have grace to hear and see.

Some Jewish mystics taught that Scripture, we might say each verse, has 70 levels of meaning. To the best of my ability I will give you the personal song (communion) it brings to my heart as a Christian; just one message, considering that every word in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation speaks of Jesus Christ.
-----------------------------
Isaiah 33:22 is a gentle statement of God's perfect rule and care. It takes my spirit (heart) to Psalm 23. (Take a quiet time and see if Scripture speaks and proves its own voice.)

Read Psalm 23: 1,2 and then read Isaiah 33:21.
Then read Psalm 23:4 and read Isaiah 33:22.

To understand these Scriptures; requires one to realize the rod and staff (judgment and law) are symbols of spiritual authority; things to be desired and not things to complain about or to suffer under.

We rest in his mercy. God "Makes us to lie down. Some would see this as unwanted or undue force. But we, who are truly broken, are the sheep of His pasture. We answer to his name, his leading, his law now written in our hearts, his judgment.

Read the 23 Psalm severaI times and Isaiah 33 several times. Watch for key similarites in words and concepts. Treat it as poetry and as peace in the midst of chaos. Keep the idea in front of you that the Lord is speaking peace to his little bride. -- Plenty of water, no thirst; no sickness, no guilt; no harm from without; and no penalty for past repeated sins, which is iniquity.

To read Isaiah 33 and the 23 Psalm with understanding is to see the prophecy in Isaiah 33:17. May it be so with thee in this matter; "that thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty; and behold the land that is very far off." David saw this for he wrote -- and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. This is a present house as well as a future home.
-------------------------------
May I leave you with two thoughts. Eastern thought, which the Bible really is, presents us as being an awareness above our thoughts; and God an awareness above that! Western mind sees us being our thoughts. Thoughts are us! These two views must be combined. Both have merit for a clear picture. If you are stuck in one or the other you cannot read the Bible; or much else for that matter.

Second: There is a big difference in Eastern religious ideas found in Karma and Desire. Karma is almost like Bibical sin; but not spread over time. Desire that kicks in Karma or sin is the same; but the Eastern effort is to release from it. God commands not a release; but the turning of its essence to Christ; the source of our desire. Desire which is not turned to him becomes perverted despite our best efforts; even to such things as the attitude of your boyfriends friends.

ps
One Christian read Isaiah 33 and wrote:
I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose law I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
and giveth me songs in the night.

Sorry to take so much space; but I wanted to share some chords, by which Christ confirms truth to our hearts. May the effort you put into your Masters be richly rewarded. The Lord bless you and your boy friend. Whatever life brings, hold out for songs in the night and accept no substitutes; pray that life surround you with people of true character.

Never forget that God hides in our hope and in beauty; that we should find nothing after him. --- and that is Scripture! Ecc. 3:11 & 7:14 and Romans 8:20.

Pretty much exactly what it is saying:

For God makes all the decisions here. God is our king.
God runs this place and he'll keep us safe.

(It was a Message about Assyria.)
