Work on the credit then buy "stuff".

That depends on how bad your credit is. You can go to dell and apply for a Dell Preferred Account and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, you could try bluehippo.com although I wouldn't recommend blue hippo since they are a ripoff. Blue hippo basically sells inferior pc's (cheap) for an inflated price and they pray on people who have very little knowledge about pc's and consumer financing.

In other words, you could very well pay blue hippo say $2,000 for a $500 pc with subpar parts.

Your only other option would be a rent to own place like alrenco or rent a center but again they pray on people with bad credit and limited financing savvy.

Choose wisely and do your homework before you agree to any terms. If you're unsure, ask someone to check it out for you before you commit to anything.

Good luck !

Consider used for now. I see good deals in the paper all the time. Later, when you have built up some savings you can upgrade. The latest models always have the neatest bells and whistles but a computer that is two or three years old still can work just fine.

Here's a novel idea. Save your money till you can afford to pay cash. You'll stay out of debt and save all that big interest.
