It's a book written by a scam artist named Rhonda Byrnes who used good marketing skills to become famous off of the pain and suffering of insecure people. Rhonda Byrnes ought to be prosecuted for this trash. For one thing, she has plagiarized so many writers that it is amazing she is not being sued by a dozen other self-help book authors. For another thing, her theory is full of it. She even went so far to suggest that people in Rwanda could have avoided being murdered had they just thought more positively. Furthermore, based on her point of view, you can tell a child it is their fault if their mother died of cancer. "Sorry, honey, but I guess you weren't positive enough." It is sick. No one should buy this witch's book and support her filth.

Don't get me wrong. Positive thinking is a good thing. It makes you better able to deal with your problems, and it CAN make you more successful. Byrnes takes it too far, suggesting you can change the world around you. Her evidence is totally anecdotal, simply ignoring the mountain of evidence that proves it wrong. A simple analogy can bust her theory. Say ten people arrive at a parking lot, and there is one good spot left. Say all ten of them are POSITIVE with ALL THEIR HEARTS that they will get that spot. Will all ten of them get it? No. Of course not. BUT... the person who did can go around all day and say, "See? I was positive, and I got the spot. That proves it works."

Rhonda Byrnes is that person who happened, through positive thinking somewhat, but mostly through hard work and dumb luck, to get that good parking spot. Sure, it is easy for her to say it works. She got lucky and wrote a best-selling book. If you buy it, however, you're just supporting another con-artist who is using her success to take advantage of people going through difficult times. That's the last thing our society needs. I think people like this rank right up there with rapists and child molesters. Yuck.

There is a book called The Secret which is basically about positive thinking. However it may lead people to believe that anything can be achieved just be thinking positively. It does not focus on the hard work, good judgment, and ethics that must go along with positive thinking. Thinking positively is a good thing but it achieves no miracles in itself.

In my opinion, the "Secret" is positive action that is one step beyond positive thinking. Accomplishments are made through positive thinking, but not without the actual action required to complete the thinking.

I think Rhonda Byrne took a lot of her work from Dr. Wayne W. Dyer who wrote such books about positive thinking like "Real Magic" and "You'll See It When You Believe It". These are great books that can motivate you into action and important decision making required in life to succeed and become prosperous.

Hope that helps.

The secret can mean alot of things. You need to be more specific. When it comes to getting dates, you do need to think confidently! You look confident, and people will be magnetized to your charms. It works! If she means about life, then yes, thinking positive no matter how bad it gets works too. But you also have to have a clean pallette. Meaning no recreational drugs, no drinking, no bad influences. Trust me, I quit them, and my luck has been so great! It's hard the first year without though! But here I am 6 years later and I feel great! And my life is quickly getting better, I already own a home, and my own vehicle! I just pay bills. Please be more specific next time if you want a good answer to what ever you talk about.

I watched the dvd yesterday and basically the secret is 'think what you want'. The secret explains that people need to be positive, no negatives whatsoever, believe you can achieve, visualise the finished product and you will get it. Although it seems pretty hard to imagine i believe that if we want something hard enough we will get it. The dvd describes people as being 'energy' and this energy will seek to recieve power. I believe its worth a try

The secret means if you think positive in your life, the world will start embracing your positive energy- in turn getting exactly what you wanted......I personally don't believe theres a secret. God gave us all life. The secret is within our Father. IF you want something to change, or goals need to be met, ask our savior Jesus Christ for help

What what secret is? Thinking positive is a great way to go though. I like this saying: "Expect the worse and hope for the best".

You have to read the book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. You can't be tought or told the secret, you have to find it, learn it and figure it out by yourself
