If there was ever a time to speak to a person rather than text msg him, this is it. Tell him you're sorry hes hurting, then be quiet and just listen if he wants to talk. The last thing you should do though is offer advise on how to get through this time. I know from personal experience that I just wanted to slap people who told me I should do this or I should do that.

i dated a guy once who just lost his dad to. just send him a text and let him know that you're thinking of him and you're truely sorry for his loss and you're there if he needs to talk. Reassure him that someone other than family is there if he needs someone. then if that upsets him...he's extremely emotional....which is cute.

Just say what you feel right now, and try not to mention his dad much and you should be good. maybe he's waiting for you to text him too.Whatever you say i don't think he'll care if it sounds stupid, because you're showing you care.

Don't forget to let him know you're there!!!!

Good Luck

In the grand scheme of things, he won;t remember what was said to him during this time, but more just remember who was there for him. A message as simple as your thinking about him, keeping him in your prayers, and would help him in whatever way you can would mean a lot to him right now I bet.

Tell him 'I'm here for you' or 'I'm thinking about you' or 'Let me know if you need anything', something along those lines. There's nothing you can say that will take the pain away, but letting him know that you're there for him and that you care will be appreciated.

Someone somewhere dreams of your smile, and whilst thinking of you says life is worthwhile. So when you're lonely remember it's true, someone somewhere is thinking of you!

I know it's soppy and I don't know if that's appropriate, but my bf once sent it to me when I was feeling low and it just told me he was there for me.

Just hearing from you is what he needs. It doesn't need to be the right words or anything like that. Just hearing from you is the right words. Believe me.
