I'm sorry, but I can't conceive of any *True* God or Goddess that would be uncaring enough to ask such a thing and that makes the answer easy and simple. If there is not enough sensitivity and compassion to understand the Human attachment to all children, even such an entity as a God is emotionally and judgmentally dead. I would believe that even the other Gods would shun such a God.

You said "Be Serious". Yet your question reminds me of one like "Do you kill babies before or after you pray?" or "Where to you want to be shot, in the head or in the heart?"
Who would require me to make this choice? Certainly not Divinity. Another human? Under what conditions?
Divinity or Children is never a direct choice. It is a forced one. If placed into this position, then my action would depend upon doing what needs to be done. Such things can never be planned before hand. The Universe does not work that way.
Is this question a veiled disguised attempt to ask do I have more love for Divinity or my children? Or are you implying that if I choose my children then Divinity disappears and if I choose Divinity then my children disappear? I think not.
Okay. then what about something more realistic? If my children and grandchildren were all to mysteriously and suddenly die, would I still believe in Divinity? Yes. Would I believe that Divinity has struck me a personal blow? No. Would life be the same? No, but I would do whatever I had to do.
To totally change my personal beliefs about Divinity might require more than the loss of my offspring. This is no longer the middle ages during the plague or the burning times or the inquisition. Are you perhaps trying to get us ready for something?

It's a great question, Ariel, and I think it goes to the heart of much of the world's problems today.
Any deity or religion that requires we place them before the well-being of others does not deserve our loyalty. I'm talking about here-and-now wellness, which is provable... not some afterlife, which may or may not exist and must be taken as a matter of faith (by definition, unprovable).
If the god of my understanding suddenly appeared and told me to take any action that would harm my children, I'd refuse. Ditto with harming other people for no reason. End of story.

Well, I chose the bible God and lost my children. Long story, but I was a Christian, but not a Pentecostal like my parents wanted. They told me I was demon possessed, they kept telling my kids I was demon possessed, and they kept telling me they would one day turn my children against me and all the signs were there, but I felt that family was important and did not want to deny my children their grand parenst or deny my parents my children.
anyway it boiled down to an unjst court decision and my parents with their free attornys said plainly that if I stopped going to the church I was going to and started going to a Pentecostal church and started doing what my parents wanted I would still have access to my kids, but they would be in control.
I refused to change churches or to allow anyone control me and I chose my God at the time. All I would have done was denied what I felt to be true and pretend to be a pentecostal and I could still have my kids and my family.
Well, that is why it was so rough on me when my beliefs started changing because I had scarificed my whole family, my kids, and I will never know my grandkids simply because I would not bow down to someone trying to control me and their hatred for me was because I worshiped God differently than they did.
My sons are now 27 and 22 and I have not seen or heard from anyone in 11 years. If they only knew I was Wiccan now, they really would think me demon possessed.
So given what I sacrificed for the bible God, I know I will stand just as firm for the Goddess and god of Wicca.
My dad was dead 2 years before I found out by accident. No doubt my mother will be dead years before I learn of her death also.
My faith has always been first priority for me even now as Wiccan, but unlike christianity Wicca does not demand so much sacrifice. Besides. I have laready lost everything I can. When my beliefs started changing I was afraid I might lose my Christian wife, but she adapted and stands by her man.
BB
Edit:
I must have misunderstood the question. It seems the question was about diety asking us to choose life or death for our children. I thought it was more about convictions and if we would change convictions . In my case my parents kept telling me if I did not change my belief I might loose my kids, but I should have payed attention to the warning signs and refused my parents to see my kids. Oh well hindsight is better than foresight.Sorry.

But all the children ARE Goddess/God! Giving up one means giving up the other. Let's just keep them all.

your children cuz i have seen so many people treat their children so baddly that i could scream and i just dont understand how some one could treat a human being that way well that is jus my opinion so i think a human being is more important than a religion
i would sacrafice

Do you mean one has to die, then if so, I will choose my faith, because I am spiritual and I believe if someone dies then they are moving on, they have learned whatever they were suppose to learn in this life. I do not wish death upon anyone, but we must rejoice for those that are ready to move one, and be reborn to learn yet another lesson until their spirit has learned all needed to move on to the next plane.
Peace be within us

Given the fact that this past weekend I gave up two of my cats(my cats were/are my kids) to find a new, better home and then found out yesterday that they were put down instead......Goddess. Hopefully, my sacrifice will appease (sp?) her.

Abraham was given that same choice when God instructed him to sacrifice his son Issac, his choice....? God.
The Result....? God stopped him, and decided that he would not have to sacrifice his son on the rock, instead..He would send His own Son (Jesus) to die for our sins instead, and.....get this..on the very same spot that Abraham has his son (some scholars believe) The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is believed to be that rock.

Not hard at all, since I do not have any children. Also, those I am closest to, who might constitute my surrogate family, are all adults who would never push such a choice on me. And I would not worship a god or goddess who pushed such a choice. I would turn my back on him or her.
