The first thing I learned about God was that he needed to be worshiped.
I was 6, and I had never heard the concept of God before. Parents never mentioned it, or I never picked up on it. The teacher in one of my classes asked a question about how many of us go to church, and I was the only kid not to raise their hand. It caused some of the other kid's jaws to drop and one came up to me and said "YOU don't go to CHURCH?" I shook my head and he proceeded to tell me about how you go to church to give thanks to God for life, and that if you don't go to church you burn in hell.
I didn't know what hell was either, so it didn't phase me so much.

My mother was a Sunday school teacher. She taught me to say "God is love" even before I was old enough to have a memory of it now. I know that because I remember that it was already familiar at the time of my earliest recollection, which is about age three. So it was probably one of the first things I ever learned. Of course, it took a long time to get the logic of the statement. A = B, therefore B = A. That is, if God is Love, then Love is God.
Like the guys sang to us, All you Need is Love.

My parents have been teaching me about God, Jesus Christ, prayer, the scriptures and the Holy Ghost since the day I was born. We have always acknowledged God's presence in our lives. I couldn't say what the first cognizant piece of knowledge was. By the time I was three, I was singing with my brothers in church "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam" as a trio.
I grew up learning the book answers to gospel questions. I count my actual spiritual conversion to my freshman year of college when I felt inside my own being the peace and joy of the truthfulness of the gospel. I had answers to my prayers and felt the Holy Ghost guiding me with inspiration. I knew that what I had been taught all my life was indeed true.

a million) disagree : can any writer does not like his creations , impossible . 2) it somewhat is human has to have God's interest & by no skill does not relate to potential of God . the God's potential is continuous and caught , something a guy or woman get closed to God he could have the God's mercy. that continues to be human discern their fortune . 3) only one thing potty! 4) if God grew to become into not genuine , human hadn't have the requirement to worship somebody on the grounds that they have been born. in case you seem up the background of the human beings , you will understand . and this way of human's existence is reason of a real God . i believe him . and you will't say any ingredient happens in the international is reason of anger of God , or because of the fact he hates some , he likes they're going to have torment . it somewhat is precisely us make our fortune and any torture is reason of the organic results of sth . that the examples(floods , and different organic disaster) are sufficient glaring to not clarify extra. and how do you comprehend that's not reason of nuclear experiments under the floor , i think of something would properly be achievable to the human...... that grew to become into mine ... not gonna say the rest.... desire somebody believe me...!

My parents never talked about God so my Grandma taught us to say prayers before bed, basically asking God to watch over us and our loved ones. This was all I knew of God until Jr high when kids started telling me I was going to hell because I didn't go to church. Nice eh?

I learned, when I was 5, in Sunday School class that God created everything. They told me that God knew everything, even when I was thinking bad things. They said that God choose me espeically for my parents. I then asked the teacher but why did God choose my brother since he knows I don't like him? The teacher was in complete shock and told my parents that me and my brother should love and not fight all the time :)

The first thing that I remember - was the 10 Commandments. My Mom shared them with me. It scared the crap out of me. Although she never said these words - it was like "Obey the rules or you'll burn in hell."
Just what a four year old needs to learn. Don't ya think??
I now have God in my life. God is Love. There is no sin. There is no hell. THANK GOD!!!
Namaste!!

I was raised Catholic. Jesus always seemed like a huge wet blanket. Stern, forbidding, finger-wagging, cranky. I got the idea that if I met him, he'd be displeased with me. He never seemed like a loving, welcoming God.
