It's an Exotic Asian fruit called "Durian". Here's a picture of it:

After seeing the pic, would you like a bite of the "fruit"? :D

I don't know if it's available where you're at. The smell is just too strong to sell it in the supermarkets.

I've had durian and the initial taste is okay, but the aftertaste it left was HORRIBLE. I have a friend that makes durian ice cream - not good. I guess there are few "middle-roaders" on this one - either love it or hate it.

I tried a Durian drink once. It was sweet but it had an aftertaste like the smell of cat urine or skunk.

Durian. it somewhat is very prized in SE Asia. It smells so undesirable that it somewhat is unlawful in lodges and different public places. In Singapore it somewhat is unlawful on the accepted public transit. Wikipedia states the flavour is so respected that there are durian flavored condoms! it could kill you if one falls on your head. The seeds are poisonous till boiled. Small aspects of the fruit are fit to be eaten. It tasted to me like rancid garlic custard. Wretch!

Of course I would try it. My parents taught me to try new things.
Durian? Is it in the stores?

No, I saw Andrew Zimmerman from Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel eat it and he gagged from the taste and smell. That guys eats some pretty weird stuff, so if he gags on this im sure its pretty disgusting!

I have in fact tried it already since it is grown in my native country. You eat the yellowish flesh. Oh and it has a very strong odor that to most is ,,,yucky.

Sure, most fruits have antioxidants and good stuff for you...most food we eat doesn't seem so appealing in it's natural form!
