I'm always a little heartened when I feel I've helped encourage someone, or been a good listener for someone who is going through a difficult time. Sometimes it's enough to fill me with joy just knowing that I've put a smile on someone's face, like my dear friend, Moon :)

Coffee, well it always comes first. 1980's music, that strange soft bit on the back of my daughter's head. The anticipation of playing silly online war games, the little bird that perches on the computer room window sill. The smell of fresh clean bed linen sun warmed and straight off the line. The sweetest ripest bananas for breakfast, the ones will all the lovely brown spots. The poem a mate sent me, yesterday. The funny hard little peaches I can see from the window, on the peach tree my kids grew from a stone. Talking to my nephews, niece, uncles and cousins all over the world online and not worrying about mounting bills. The way my old sandals feet so perfectly, so comfortingly, a song played from years ago.
Joy is easy.

The blessing that I am able to wake up in the morning, wrap my arms around a wonderful man and enjoy a cup of coffee with my husband, kiss my children before going to work, arrive at work safely, have a great day with my patients, get home safely after work, make dinner and laugh together as a family, watch a little TV, ride my bike and go back to bed with the man I love.
That ALL fills my heart with JOY!!

Reading the words of Allah, ever benevolent, most merciful, as delivered to the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) in the Holy Qur'an. I also love to hear the words in Arabic recited. I love to hear the Adhan as well, calling me to pray to Allah.

Puppies. Serious, you can't help but to smile when you see a puppy. It is impossible to be angry, or even unhappy, when there is a puppy in the room.

Watching my son play, taking my dogs on walks thru the woods or to the lake to swim, just enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds us, if we just take the time to see it.
