said that 9/11 happened because God was angry at homosexuals and femenists. Opinions?
And yes, he did say that.

On the broadcast of the Christian television program "The 700 Club," Falwell made the following statement:
"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

And, The 700 Club is Pat Robertson’s gig, so you can include him with those who hate America. Fundamentalist Christians want to rewrite the US Constitution so they can destroy America’s 100% secular democratic republic and replace it with a quasi-theocratic fascist government based on the doctrine of their humanity- and America-hating God. Only the rule of law prohibits them from behaving exactly like their radical Islamic cousins:
• Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson said that God attacked us on 9/11 because he was mad at America.
• Bin-Laden said that God that attacked us on 9/11 because he was mad at America.
-----------------------------------
• Bin-Laden claims that God spoke to him and told him to smite America.
• Bush claims that God spoke to him and told him to smite Iraq.
-----------------------------------
• Christian fundamentalists believe Bush is God’s instrument and that he is doing God’s work.
• Islamic fundamentalists believe Bin-Laden is God’s instrument and that he is doing God’s work.
-----------------------------------
• Bush sends others to do the killing (and to be killed).
• Bin-laden sends others to do the killing (and to be killed).
-----------------------------------
• Christianity and Islam both trace their history back to Abraham, sharing a common history and common beliefs.
-----------------------------------
• Fundamentalist Christians and Muslims both worship brutally judgmental and sadistic Gods who do not hesitate to kill their own chosen followers as well as non-believers.
-----------------------------------
• Christian and Islamic fundamentalists both believe (and have the historical pedigrees to prove) in conversion through genocide and see no inconsistency in murdering, raping, torturing, barbequing, and hacking-off body parts as a means to spread their spiritual messages of unconditional love and goodness.
-----------------------------------
• The conservative faithful of both religions are fearful and ignorant humanity-hating sociopaths.

First, let me state clearly that I loved Jerry Falwell; I think he was a great preacher and genuinely loved God. I know he said homosexuality caused 9/11; however, I would have urged him to put this a different way, if I had his ear.
Second, I believe it's more accurate to state that homosexuality was not the cause -- GODLESSNESS was -- but homosexuality was the FIRST STEP toward the judgement we saw on 9/11. Read Romans 1:18-32 and Romans 2:1-16. Paul describes the degradation of any society that doesn't believe in God: first, they push God away; then, God "gives them up" to ungodly passions, such as (but not restricted to) homosexuality; this gradually leads to the total moral collapse of the society (which is where we've been for quite awhile here in the U.S.). Romans 2 explains what will ultimately happen to such a society: harsh judgement from God.
Many people just don't seem to understand a concept that's been taught in the Bible from the beginning: that God can judge a person or nation simply by withdrawing His protection away from it. This is the case with the U.S. -- the judgement we received on 9/11 is just the beginning of our sorrows.

It's a shame. Unfortunately most of the mass media voices for Christianity are a disgrace.
It is this and Christians that couldn't answer my questions that almost kept me from finding Christ.
I thank God that there are now several sources to get answers to all the questions out there - whether it be science or philosophy or Biblical difficulties.
You may not agree with the answers but there is no disputing the sound logic and reasoning behind them.

Falwell was full of intolerance and prejudicial attitudes, all while pretending to be promoting the love of God. We're much better off without his resentments.

God only knows. In the old testaments whole villages were wiped out because of gross sin and rejecting God.

I'm still glad he's dead. I guess it sounded better than our president is incompetent and religion is destroying the planet with its hatred.

It happened because the government was looking for a reason to go to war, so they did nothing to stop it. I honestly believe the government knew long before it happened. We are not that dumb.
