The wiser I become, the less real knowledge I realize I possess and the more I have to learn. Hey now that ain't bad if I do say so myself.

Hey Dear :)
Knowledge is passive and illusive, stored within the conscious and the unconscious, knowledge is prevalent at all times, whether it's degree is little or less, wisdom is being conscious of knowledge, it is taking in action, an activity of knowledge. Wisdom often means recognizing the difference between knowledge and bewilderment, and wisdom often relies on facing the fact that... sometimes we are not as knowledgeable as we might think, it's in acceptance and in recognition of what we don't know.
I'll give you a good example, lets say I am informed about a certain event that has just happened, my best friend fell ill once and was on the brink of passing away.. Being informed is being knowledged about this event.
And so being pretty religious, I was in a battle. I was torn between accepting what God has done, or not. The most I could do is pray and take her to doctors. My wisdom came from recognizing I DONT know the reason God has done this, and so I accepted it, and embraced that God knows more than me.. and he does everything for a reason. And so I prayed and she is happy and healthy now.
Hope that helped hun
Peace&Love

To me, knowledge is having information as to facts and figures and familiarity with things . Wisdom, on the other hand, is the ability to use knowledge correctly and properly. I guess an example of this would be that I have good amount of knowledge - I know a little bit about a lot of things and do quite well in trivia games and in quoting facts and figures. My father-in-law is a prime example of wisdom - his experiences and understanding of things allows him to see how to best apply that which he knows to better his work, his family, his community.

In Daniel - the scripture reads "....He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning...." so there is a difference.
I believe personally that knowledge is a base of intelligence neither used nor unused. Just a base. Wisdom is the discernment to know when to use that knowledge.
Just guessing - katiefish <><

knowledge is much more like reading an encyclopedia, wisdom as seen by Solomon in the bible, the wisest and yet the saddest because he didn't follow his own wisdom, I think since I am 56 i can see that wisdom comes from experiences, often experiences in doing things wrong or having the wrong attitude. You don't have to be old to have wisdom but you do have to be truthful with yourself, very truthful and not blame others.

Good question.
Knowledge is much more simple, it can be obtained by anyone, even computer has knowledge stored in it, books also store knowledge. It's a primary stage.
While wisdom is something different, it's gained only by deep thinking in oneself, anything and everything, with time you will gain wisdom, you'll FEEL it.

Knowledge -- plain ol' book learning
Wisdom -- sometimes referred to as "street smarts", more being able to take things you've learned over the years and putting them to actual use. Wisdom is realizing that you know nothing. Yes, that's a quote, no, I don't remember who said it. That would be a little too much knowledge for me.

knowledge is the accumulation of information and experience, wisdom is knowing how to use that information and that experience and putting it to good use whether for your best interest or someone else's.
a good current example would be applying the knowledge gained from the vietnam war to iraq...after what happened then, we would be wise not to repeat the same mistakes in iraq. that would mean not paying attention to the gloom and doom democrats and actually staying the course and winning ...

Knowledge is the things you learn through school, readings, life, etc.
Wisdom is based on your frame of reference, it's a gift.
In other words, you don't gain wisdom no matter how much knowledge you learned, unless you posses it naturally.

knowledge is something that is learned, wisdom cannot be taught, it is acquired.
in my life I have the knowledge of the existence of God, I have read the Bible therefore I have knowledge of His word, however the foundation of my relationship with God is built on faith, only possible through wisdom, which comes from the Spirit
