The ability to reproduce is a God given gift that He really intended for us to practice responsibly. Yes, a child conceived out of wedlock is still in God's divine plan, however it's a much rougher road to travel than when the parents have made a commitment to one another.
I know only too well from my own experience. I had my first child out of wedlock; it was so hard to try to raise my son alone. I wouldn't want to live my life without Joe, me son, but I wish I could have done things differently.
So it is God's prefect will that the mother and father are married, allowing an equal share in the raising of the child/children. However, even though we may stray from God's prefect will, that does not mean He can't help us along the path we choose.

It is called unplanned parenthood for most...God united the first couple and they should stick together as one...
Change the right course for a different course and problems will appear. I know what it is like to try to get married after the child is on the way. My daughter was raised with trouble surrounding her. Her mothers family hated to get married and were self centered...lack of love and commitment
SHE WAS MY SUNRISE AND SUNSET>>OF LOVE
Children are a gift from God...so raise them well.
The guide book ( the Bible) sets matters straight! It can hit you in the head or the HEART. Lack of commitment is truly a modern day plague. Just look at the runaway moms and dad today! They leave this gift to chance ...drive off and take their problems with them...and leave children helpless and lonely.
Out of wedlock is not the only problem here! And it is a problem. Lack of common sense and love. Please do it Gods way and save a great family life! 1 Cor 13: talks all about why people get married!!!

LOL! OMG, when I was a kid growing up in a conservative catholic household, my mom never explained how babies were made. She just said they were a gift from god. So when my mom heard some girl was pregnant (an unmarried teenager) she shook her head sadly and said what a shame it was. I was thoroughly confused and said, "She can't help it, why are you upset?!" My mom said, "Of course she can help it! She shouldn't have gotten pregnant." And I just said, "But if babies are a gift from god, god gave it to her and it's not her fault." My mom didn't say anything after that and I didn't find out until later how babies were REALLY made.
LOL. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Dead wrong, do not try to twist the scriptures, to fit the situation.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
God made if Very clear that childbearing is ONLY acceptable between man and wife. That is not to say, that God rejects the child that is formed. Pregnancy is indeed a gift from God, but no out of wedlock pregnancies are part of his plan. Look at the example we have in the bible. David and Bathsheba, the child died. Abraham and Hagar, total disaster all the way around. God will not reject the child, but by no means will he take the blame for humans acting like dogs in heat.

In a sense they are. Basically God ties his hands to what we do in those cases. (It's like if we were to clone a human being. Although we're not supposed to play God like that, God would still impart a soul into that person, and that person would be a child of God just like you and I). Basically God works in two ways, he causes things to happen directly, or he allows things to happen. Nothing happens without Him knowing. And just like "georgeoustxviletemptress" said, there is always a reason for God allowing things like this to happen.

Obviously not. They MUST be a 'gift' from Satan. Just think, every child born out of wedlock must be a potential Anti-Christ then. Right? Since all "IN wedlock" children are a gift from God it only seems logical.
LOL
Nonsense!

It is indeed a gift from God, provided the two persons are married. Unwed people are not suppose to get pregnant because premarital sex is detestable to God.
