Well, what if my hypothetical neighbor is gay?

2007-08-09 02:07:25 · 14 answers · asked by Firewheel 4 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

This was a hypothetical question. I wanted to see what the majority of people would say (and I got a lot of interesting answers). Actually, I have no gay neighbors, though I do have many gay friends.

Then you revert to the Psalms "God hates all workers of iniquity."

Love the sinner not the sin!!
God hates liars...fornicators...adultury...Sodom ..thieves drunks...those that do not honor father and mother..
so learn to hate the sin....and God does hate SIN!
Would you sacrifice a very special son so that others might live...
The very term REPENT means to stop and turn around!!!
God hates the sin....would love for those that are defiling flesh to stop....turn around and go down the righteous path to life.....He has the right to set standards...by owning and designing the human race.
For example...a delicate watch needs repair where do you take it.....to a welder??? some one with a jack hammer??
Hardly!! The watch maker knows what makes this fine Jewelry function...take your problems to God the Maker not to the wisdom of this world that ends in Death .
They body is naturally designed to produce children.
Can Gay produce children? No....If we put all female gays on a restricted island.......and all gay males on their own restricted island..how long would that island be populated with humans( provided they do not also mate with animals in an UN NATURAL......they would die off in less than 150 years
Creation is natural and designed.
Hope you know that I have gays that know I don't hate them nor will they ever be able to change my Bible standards.
It is very hard to watch minds being twisted by wisdom that is not from above.
Should Gays ever repent they can have Gods Favor!
Anyone who lies steals...fornicates...cheats ...covets...worships idols or sports stars....is not pleasing to God
Check the instructions ( The Bible) Love causes Christians to warn others....not hate. True Christians are well aware of that.
When all else fails( and it will) read the instuctions and pray for clean and healthy life styles...work on bad habits...smoking swearing...hate ....over drinking...over eating.....love of money...materialism... You deserve better than what the devil hands out! Life not death
the record shows what things God will and has destroyed !

That doesn't matter hon.

Treat all with kindness. Be helpful. Be loving and caring and friendly. Make them a cake and take it over. Offer to help with a chore. Do all the things you would do as a Christian with any neighbor.

Keep the praise of God continually in your mouth and speak of Christ's love in your words AND ESPECIALLY actions.

Integrity is shown in a person who follows God's will even when no one is looking. Christ's intent was that we would see no difference in anyone - yet treat all with love.

Live Christian integrity 24/7.

Peace.

Saturn,
There is NOTHING wrong with caring about a gay person. They are sinful as each of us is sinful. That does not mean that they do not deserve to be "cared for" as anyone else is. We are to hate the sin NOT the sinner. There are drunks and murderers in this world that we also should care for so that they will have an opportunity to become Christians and follow our LORD and Master. Serving HIM is what we are supposed to be doing. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

.
Vdagah,
Christians follow the New Testament, NOT the Old Testament. It was written for those who lived prior to CHRIST'S Resurrection and Ascension.

Primo,
You are always there for people. THANK YOU!!

have you ever forgotten already that the christian god is a jalous and vengeful god. I recommend have you ever forgotten related to the previous testomony a non secular society would recommend a non secular regulation. a non secular regulation based upon the bible is comparable to the sharia. Now i don't be conscious of you or the way you sense related to the sharia yet i do no longer purely like the sharia. merely mentioning an obvious element. With a non secular state you agree for a non secular regulation.. wager what it's going to be like the sharia. it is sufficient reason to no longer settle for such. you would be good without religious regulation... you would be even good without god. however approximately that one?

Love them.

If God chose to make them gay, who are you to judge? Read Matthew chapter 22, there are no exceptions listed there, Love your neighbor as you love yourself. To do any less is un-Christian.

You are to still love them. You don't have to be buddies, but being kind goes a long ways.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Talk to him/her about the sin of homosexual activity in a charitable way. He/she may listen and in so doing you will plant the seed of truth. That's about all you can do. When speaking to gays, I often use my alcoholism as an example. I tell them I have to make a choice:
1) I can say "God made me this way so it must be okay to get drunk"
or
2) I know I'm alcoholic, I know drunkeness is a sin, so I need to check myself
I apply that same logic to homosexuals: Recognize the wrongness of the activity and don't give in to your weakness. Don't hate homosexuals, just like I hope nobody hates alcoholics. We're all sinners, and we all have particular weakness to a particular sin. You must be the master of your weakness and overcome it,
