If Gods name isnt Jehovah, and JW's have never seen God in person? Why are they Jehovah Witnesses?
Shouldnt they be like "Creator Gods believers" or "higher power think tank" and so on and so forth.
BTW for all concerned, "Jehovah" is the german word for Yahweh. So unless YHWH was definately Gods spelled out name, and God is German, then Jehovah ISNT his name.
Are they really witnessing for him? Does one who denies the trinity and deity of Christ a good witness? Would they worship Jesus if he walked into the room as the apostles did? Or say "Hi prophet-only Jesus?"
If Im wrong on any of these, feel free to correct almighty God watchtower guards.

Uh, people, when I go around saying that Im a "Jesus Christ witness" promoting his "TRUE NAME" then you can pan me for that. Thats your silly practice, not mine. In my own humble opinion, God doesnt have a name. Jesus did but his earthly name isnt whats important.

They're called Jehovah's Witnesses because Yahweh's Endorsers doesn't have the same ring to it.

Why do you call yourself a Christian? Have you seen Christ in person?
In English, God's name is Jehovah. If you look in your King James Bible, you will find it at Ex. 6:3, Ps. 83:18, Isa. 12:2, and 26:4.
If you are trying to be so precise about names, why do you use the word "Jesus"? "Jesus" is Latin, and it (Gr., I·e·sous′) corresponds to the Hebrew name Jeshua (or, in fuller form, Jehoshua). Isn't your reasoning a bit inconsistent?
FYI, Jesus and Jehovah are two different persons. We are called Jehovah's Witnesses, even though we also witness about Jesus. In fact, we are involved in the preaching work Jesus assigned to his followers. Matt. 28:19, 20.
Does one who denies the trinity and deity of Christ a good witness? JW's do NOT deny the deity of Christ. (John 1:1, 18; Isa. 9:6) We deny the trinity because it is a false teaching. NOWHERE in the Bible will you find even one verse that says that God is made up of 3 co-equal, co-eternal persons. NOT ONE. If you think it's there, feel free to show me.
JW's get their name from Isa. 43:10
Funny thing: Many of those who insist that God's name is Yahweh don't even use that. They are content like most people to say either "Lord" or "God." They only make an issue of God's name when they want to criticize Jehovah's Witnesses.

It is not Jehovah God that needs correcting.
I looked up Yahweh in my english dictionary and guess what,
It wasn't there. This threw me for a minute until I realized it is Hebrew and not English.
I then looked up Jehovah in my english dictionary and found this:
The Name of the Hebrew God, used by Christians.

They speak in behalf of the true God and make his name manifest. My research indicated that the word Jehovah was first used by Martin Luther, the apostate from the Catholic Religion. Of course, he was German!
Regarding the trinity, I like the comment made by one of the believers on another question, that we are made in God's image, and that we also are "triune." Maybe she was being sarcastic but she actually made a good point against the trinity belief. Jehovah did not make us with three heads on one body. Although we are capable of multi tasking, we usually do it in the same place, not with part of us in heaven and part of us on the earth. At least I don't.
When has any JW said that Jesus was only a prophet? He is the Son of God and as such has to be a god himself . He is not God Almighty however. I wish you people would get it straight, Satan has you so blinded, that you just can't rationalize anymore.

Hello,
Why are you using the English version of Jesus in your statements...is that truly how we should say his name ?
Yeshuah..( Jesus) in English.. Hebrew to English is not always a great translation.. Many say Jesus in English but is that really how we should say that name???
A little home work might prove to be interesting for you.
The Divine name is pronounce differently in many languages...so if they have an accent should they not say the name...? Are you totally upset if someones speaks your name the best they are able? A loving creator will help us all do the we can...in speech and conduct!
Jesus is our Leader...not just a profit...he also is our owner since we are bought with his blood (ransom) Much more than a prophet. Why have the many Bible translators left the name out entirely? ( or hide it in a foot note) God is a Title not a name as you say.....why are they not using His name? If the scholarly version of the name is available....why is it left out....That is a bigger and better Question...nearly 7,000 times the reference to Gods name (not Title ) have been left out....Research Why????

(Isaiah 43:10-11) . . .YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. 11 I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”
Jehovah is an accepted English pronunciation of God's personal name. The same rule applies to Jesus name and Joshua's name. Only people that are haters of God would deny the proper use of this name. The important thing about using this name is not how it is pronounced, but rather that we use it in the context it was intended to be used.
For example I don't see at Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 42:8 that he is dividing his God-ship with any other gods?
This means if you should worship any other god or any other creation of God you would actually be committing Idolatry.
Bible students who make a serious study of God's word recognize this fact and make use of God's name in scripture where it belongs.

Just because we're called Jehovah's Witnesses that doesn't mean that we're not Christians. We are Christians. We believe in Jesus and we read the Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses both witness personally and bear witness to others regarding God's personal name, his majestic personality, and Kingdom purposes. In doing so, they align themselves with Jesus Christ and the prophets.
(Isaiah 43:10) “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah
(Isaiah 43:12) So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.
(Hebrews 12:1-2) Because we have so great a cloud of [Jehovah's] witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus
(Revelation 1:5) Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness”
(Acts 5:38,39) Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, You may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”

ask any priest from any faith and they will tell you that the accepted pronunciation of the name is Jehovah in our tongue, you'll even hear mention of the name in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. Jesus was god's son, they have a high respect for Jesus as God's son, you need to get your facts right, I am not saying convert and believe what they believe, but do you just believe everything that you read about them in the press?

They believe YHWH is God's true name, (and therefore, Jehovah, due only to our inability to pronounce his REAL name.) they believe that Jesus was perfect, and God's son, but not God in the flesh... They witness by going door to door and spreading the Good News as well as they can. I don't agree with all their beliefs and customs, but I have to say I respect their devotion to their faith.
