My brand new Sony Cybershot DSC-S650 was dropped not even a foot and it immediately turned off and the lens is still stuck out. First, I tried to turn it back on and it only said the words 'Sony Cybershot' then turned back off. So I put in new batteries, tried to turn it on again and it did the same thing. I don't know what to do, and I definitly don't have the money to just throw it away, I just got it about 2 weeks ago. Someone please help me.

Take it to a camera shop and have it repaired. I know this is probobly not what you wanted to hear, but it's what will work. I suggest in the future you buy from Ritz Camera, as their extended warranty covers dropping the camera, and I also suggest using the wrist strap alway.

How did you pay for the camera? A lot of credit cards extend warranties on products. KMart, unfortunately, probably will not take the camera back unless you bought their protection plan, because YOU damaged the camera, it wasn't defective when you bought it.
Also, you should have a manufacturers warranty that covers some replacements/repairs. I have a Sony and it came with a warranty.
As a final option, if you have homeowners or renters insurance, it might cover the camera. Either the cost of the repair and/or after the deductible the cost of a new camera.

Dropping a camera is consider abuse and unlikely to be covered by any warranty - manufacturers' or otherwise. Its likely any repair costs will be paid by you.
Another excellent reason to always always use a good wrist or neck strap and to never ever sit your camera anywhere it might be knocked off of and fall from.

Okay everyone, this is my other account, I swear, and all I wanted to add was I wanted to ask how much it would cost for it to get repaired, and also, I bought it at Kmart, they wouldn't take it back, would they?

bring it back to the shop u got it and tell them its broken..........i had the same problem with my i cam yesterday!
