I haven't read all of it, but it proves that Jefferson was not a Christian (certainly not anything like the Christians we see today) He respected Jesus' teachings, but thought the miracles (healings, walking on water, resurrection) was added to make the life of Jesus more appealing to others. He was a Deist who could respect the teachings, yet he certainly didn't respect the Christian religion on the level they would like.
After reading, what little I have read, of the Jefferson Bible and Jefferson's letters, memoirs, etc... it gave me a better understanding on what he felt would make a good Gov't for the people, protecting them from people who would use power, including religious power, who would try to take control. They left England and other parts of Europe because of religious tyranny.... they didn't build this country so that we could create a new religious tyranny.

Hello, John:
I read the Jeffersonian Bible with all the historical data earlier this year.
How sad that Jefferson reduced Jesus to a philosophical level while denying Christ's deity.
My wife wanted to read it, but after I told her about it, she won't touch it.
Although Jefferson believed in God, he saw no need for a redeemer. Too bad he lacked spiritual discernment. And for his translation, 1,000 years from now they will find his perversion and claim the the Bible was a product of man's evolution. Oops, they already do that in Bible as Literature by comparing the "deviant" Northern Kingdom with the Torah. Yes, the blind are leading the blind.
Jesus is our Creator, and a Bible code proves it. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

It is a false doctrine and an abomination to God. I wish to welcome you to Tribulation. I am the root and the offspring of David, and have the keys to heaven and hell. And, behold, I have come quickly; and have kept my word, to give every man according as his work shall be. There is no Rapture, this was a misinterpretation of the Gospels. "One will be taken, the other left", just like the bridge collapse. This is only the beginning of birth pangs in the re-creation of the earth.

Quite a while ago. Jefferson pretty much just remove everything from the New Testament that he didn't believe. It was pretty short when he was done.
It is on line here: http://www.angelfire.com/co/JeffersonBible/

LOL, Primoras answer reminds me of Austin Powers.
"No doubt, love, but as long as people are still having promiscuous sex with many anonymous partners without protection while at the same time experimenting with mind-expanding drugs in a consequence-free environment, I'll be sound as a pound!"
I will vouch for him. He hasn't read it.

Never heard of it........
But as long as it's not altered in any way from the original Scriptures (meaning, the message of the cross is not messed with), I'd check it out

I have a copy on my bookshelf, and, while not having read it cover to cover, it's really a fantastic work. I refer to it often.
