Kate and Gerry McCann were intereviewed by the police for 25 minutes yesterday morning. In the afternoon 5 friends of Kate and Gerry were also interviewed again for 20 minutes each.
These friends were with the McCanns on the fateful night and are still in Portugal! Each of these friends said they took it in turn to visit the children, quote: "Every 10 minutes!" unquote. But the McCans said they went every 30 minutes.
The friends are Jane Tanner, Russell O'Brien, David and Fiona Payne and one other person who has not been named.
The McCanns claim that the appartment was visable from the restaurant and only 100 yards away.
The appartment building was visable but the actual appartment was not as it was on the road side of the holiday complex.
The fact that the appartment building was only 100 yards from the resuarant is true, but only as a bird flys. walking, it is nearly a quarter of a mile away from the restaurant.

It is very easy to judge people going on the evidence which is presented by the news media. I am not saying that your suspicions are not justified, I too think that it is most odd the whole thing. I cannot understand who in their right mind would leave a four year old without any supervision in an apartment alone. I mean anything could have happened to the child being left alone and these are educated people. I just don't understand. I think in this country there would have been some charges of abuse laid against them for neglect. I think the truth will finally out, police are not stupid and they are normally very thorough, just because these are Portuguese police does not make them incompetent. Anyway how did this person who is supposed to have taken her know that the little girl was going to be left alone at that time, especially as the apartment was in full view, or so they say. It would be an awful risk to kidnap this little girl in this situation, something is definitely not right, but we will wait and see.

At first the McCanns said they checked every half hour, then they changed it to every hour.
The staff at the Tapas bar said they did not leave the table all night and the party was very loud. Remember the shutters were supposedly tampered with, then it came out the patio doors had been left unlocked.
Why would they say they could see the apartment from the bar when it is obvious they couldn't.
The first thing Kate said when she eventually checked the children was "she's been kidnapped" they did not report the disappearance for over two hours.
I think the Portuguese police have given them enough rope to hang themselves.

You are correct and how are these "friends" still able to remain in Portugal, are they being paid by the tax payer for not working like the McCanns or is the so called support fund paying for them to remain and tell lies. How come a whole team of lawyers flies out for these rich parasites but if it was a family from a council estate they would be in prison now.

Theres definately something not right. Ive known from the beginning that they were so wrong for leaving their children, but as time goes on I am more inclined to think that they (or at least Gerry) may have had a part in her disappearance. Time will tell!

I read that they admitted it could have been nearer 50 minutes since they last checked. Agree about the apartment, it is not visible from eye level - only from an aerial photo, to get to the apartment from the tapas bar you have to run the gauntlet in a labryrinth of walkways overgrown with large trees and shrubs, oh and not to mention a swimming pool.

Yes you are correct, lets hope who ever is responsible for this is caught sooner rather than later. Lets face it they would not of left ten grand in that room unattended. What person leaves their 3 young children alone like that???????????????

I do think there is something going on. Perhaps the fuzz are checking their stories for fine details.
