sometimes people need to speak about their beliefs and we often feel they are trying to convert us, we can only convert ourselves to anything ,when it feels right for you ,then you accept it,otherwise dont accept, but listening to others views, doesnt usually hurt us unless we allow it to hurt us or convert us,hope this make sense that is tolerance l think

Is there such a thing as "Truth"? If there is a truth, and you know it, and can prove it, you want others to know it too. For example, if you have a friend that has cancer, and know a cure for it, and you do your best to let that person know about the cure so that they could live, is that being "intolerant?"

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, and it says that we are sinners, and we are condemned to hell unless we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and the sacrifice He made for our sins.

People around us are being destroyed by drugs, pornography, alcohol, gangs, sexual addictions, hatred, violence, etc. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is Good News, that we can be free from sin, and know abundant life.

If we don't tell, if we don't invite people to this good and abundant life, we would be negligent, and the very same people that call us intolerant, when they stand before Jesus and give an account for thier lives, would accuse us of not telling them the truth. It is an obligation to try to share the Good News in love with everyone we can. What they do with it is their responsibility.

A wise man once said something like this, Spread the Gospel always. Use words only when absolutely necessary.

Our very lives should exude the presence of God. The Holy Spirit, living in us, should be so visible that everyone around us in this dark world sees that light.

Oh Lord, make this a reality in my life!

Not sure what you are asking, We don't go 'converting' we do if the opportunity arises tell people the good news. Gospel means "good news” Many times this will happen just in everyday life. I work as a sales counter in the coal mining industry. I will ask "how ya doing' and you would be surprised who people will just poor out to you what’s going on in their life. I will listen, and if the opportunity comes up, I will say this or that, and see whom it goes. Exp. A man may say "my wife is have a surgery this week, you know a women thing." And I will ask do you mind if we put her on the prayer list at church, and EVERYTIME, they are grateful, this opens up doors to invite them to church, to just let them know you really do care, and to see if there is anything you can do to help. Sometimes people just need to know that someone cares.
Tolerance? Well I put have had to hold my toung when someone who claims to be living a Christian life, buts tells me they are voting for a pro abortion candidate, or they don't see nothing wrong with embryonic stem cell research.
Not sure if this is what you mean, but maybe.

That is where you draw the line. You are either tolerant or you step over the line and try to convert others.

How about yelling in my face I'm going to hell? Or that I play Russian Roulette with my soul? Or that I should come back to Jesus? That I am following the devil?

All very annoying and not tolerant.

Tolerant: Having a nice, friendly theological discussion WITHOUT damning the other person to a "fiery lake of torment" just because they disagree with you.

Tolerance is saying "You have your beliefs and I'll have mine and we can live in peace anyway."

Converting is saying "I have my way and you should join me because it's the only way that will get you to God."

Tolerance is letting people be happy with their religions, and you cross the line the instant you try to get them to deny their beliefs and join your religion. The first is greatly appreciated and preferred to converting.

Friend, I don't talk to people about what I believe, you see after 37 yrs of being a christian, I have learned that just live the life before them, True Christians are the salt of the earth & salt makes one thirsty, My life I live shows there is something different in my life then that of a sinner, My life is the only bible some people will ever read, Therefore Since I learned about 30 yrs. ago, just keep my mouth shut until I am ask something, Now when I am ask something, then I want the same amount of time to talk as the unbeliever, God takes it from there, You will never know how many atheists & unbelievers I have worked with & how they came up to me to thank me for living that True Christian Life before them, they noticed there was something in my life that is different, that some of these young zealous Christian that don't even know what they are talking about, Yes I worked with an atheists one time, & he thanked me for my Christian life, & just before he died from cancer in 1990 he called me for prayer, I wonder why.

I feel no need to convert people to my beliefs and don't really appreciate people trying to convert me. I can understand that it is part of their beliefs and I can deal with them trying at first, but when I say I'm not interested and they continue, or they begin to put down my beliefs and tell me I'm going to hell or that I'm a Satan Worshipper I find it completely unnecessary.

I carry the message of the Gospel. If someone has heard it and rejects it then I leave them alone. That's the line. I do not expect non Christians to act like Christians. That would be tragic.

Good Question Friend.

Trying to convert a non believer, no matter what Faith is a moot point and often annoying.

Tolerance...... it's the way to go
