... he was a devout christian and asked me to turn it down while he was there. OMG I GOT SO OFFENDED! I cried all night long, boohoo! The first person who asked the opposite question as this needs help.

No, the RIGHT thing to do would be the plumberman walking out and telling you to get your sink fixed from someone else. It's about respect.

Sorry, but in both cases the man who came to fix the sink would be wrong. Then again, the person who asked the opposite question was wrong in not respecting the man's wishes. The RIGHT thing to do would be to listen to those things at a respectable volume.

Is there a question here.
I do not like anyone who forces their beliefs on me. Playing your music was like that to him - he was offended. To stop listening to it for time it took to fix your sink would not have hurt you. Would you have liked him to have played christian music even softly, would you not been offended and asked him to turn it off.
A bit of give and take was called for you not playing your satanic music and he to get on with his work and not play any music (I am sure you would not like any music he liked)
Anyway that is what I think take it or leave it.

What Satanic music were you listening to?! None of it's that offensive that some numbnut Christian would actually understand it. You should have either turned it up or politely asked him to respect your home...it's what any good Satanist would do.

B ut he didn't want deafening! I appreciate he's in YOUR home, but if you want the sink sorting, just go with it for a few minutes. He's not telling you never to play the music - just tone it down for a few minutes whilst he's there. It's all about compromise.

After checking out the link you provided, I see what you mean.
Interesting isn't it?
Those who need constant brainwashing to feed their fetish for Satan stories and god's BS can't imagine how offensive it is to everyone else.
It makes sense though. Plumber's might be thought of as uneducated but that is obviously not true of all of them. They have to deal with objects and water and physics everyday. They should be able to see the obvious.
Of course, there is the amusing metaphor here too...
Anyone in that profession knows excrement when he smells it! They deal with other people's **** all the time, but religion? ...That's just too offensive!

Dude!
If you can't show respect for other people, don't invite them into your home!
If his request offended you, then you need help!
