This may be stupid, but MRSJVB: what do BC and DH stand for?? Base Command, perhaps? Duty husband??

PIR is Boot Camp Graduation. actual PIR is held every Friday throughout the year. immediately following, one of three things will happen.

If the recruit is Grad N Go, he will immediately go back to his barracks and pack up to get on the bus/plane to A school, with no time to visit at all.

He will have duty immediately, and will not be able to visit, although he may have some free time later on that day and possibly the next.

He will be released and can leave base, in uniform but must be back by I want to say 9 pm. During that time, he may not drink, drive or smoke, as he is STILL technically at Boot Camp. I would also advise against hiring a limo and showing back up to BC with a Working Girl on your lap, as that WILL be an invitation to completely repeat boot camp from day one( happened to someone that graduated the same day my DH did )

Pass and review is the week leading up to graduation and its the graduation cemerony. Friday they have the ceremoney and then after the cemerony they get some limited liberty or time off but they have to be back each night that weekend and may not get friday, sat and sunday off. They have to wear there uniforms that weekend when they are off the base on liberty also.

It's the Graduation Ceremony when all people graduating that weekend get into formation in their respective groups, squadrons, or flights (Air Force) and march pass the review stand for evaluation and of course review. This ceremony marks then end of basic training.
