On my way home from work last night, I noticed my Explorer was beginning to overheat, which was a first to me. I stopped and turned it off to let it cool, then restarted with the heat blasting (providing some relief to the overheating engine) and I made it home. Somehow, the reservoir was bone dry, so I filled it up with antifreeze and took it to get some gas. Now, the temperature gauge has always stayed more or less in the center spot. However, on the way to the convenience store, it moved as I sped up and slowed and generally hovered around the 3/4 to hot range. Anybody have any ideas as to why it won't go back to sticking around halfway and how I can repair it?
