No its not too old (close to it though )and yes she can deliver a normal healthy baby, its just the chances of a birth defect are much higher.
The oldest woman to ever have babies was a lady last year at age 66. She delivered twin boys via c-section after IVF. Oldest to that was 60 i think.
Personally I find that sick and selfish as parent will be in 80's when kids go to college and who knows an 80 year old that could keep up with teenagers?

45 is pushing it but if a woman feels ready, able and committed to being a parent then she should be able to. But there are a lot of risks associated with late age pregnancies so the woman needs to be prepared to deal with complications, as it would be extra selfish to try for a baby, then find out it has a defect and not keep it just because she's in her 40's.

I don't think 45 is too old, as long as you are healthy and can look after a child. A lot of woman this age have healthy kids without any problems. My cousin is 42 and just had a healthy 9 and 1/2lb baby boy in june!

The risks definitely increase exponentially as your get older and it isn't really considered an ideal for pregnancy but with great medical supervision from conception to delivery it COULD be a possibility. That's a definite "Could." The media has been covering a lot of older women who have pregnancies but they do not stress that the women who do become pregnant at that age do not usually do it naturally. I was reading an article a couple of months ago and doctors were up in arms about this topic and the media's influence on women. Their point was that the media was sort of giving medical advice that it was okay and quite common to wait till that age to have children when in fact it isn't. The doctors then get MANY women in their office that they have to explain that it is NOT common and it isn't a possibility for them and women often feel cheated and lied to by the media.

It is possible if the woman hasn't started the menopause process, though the chances of getting pregnant are greatly reduced. There are more things that can go wrong, but many 40+ women have perfectly healthy babies. Its wise to consult your doctor before starting to try, so he can check whether everything is ok, and give her some advice.

No its no longer too previous (close to to it however )and particular she will furnish a common healthful toddler, its purely the probabilities of a delivery affliction are lots greater. The oldest woman to ever have babies became right into a woman final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days at age sixty six. She further twin boys by using potential of c-area after IVF. Oldest to that became into 60 i think of. in my opinion i hit upon that ill and egocentric as make certain would be in eighty's while little ones circulate to college and who knows an eighty 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous that ought to save up with babies? 40 5 is pushing it yet while a woman feels waiting, able and committed to being a make certain then she ought to be waiting to. yet there are countless hazards linked with previous due age pregnancies so the girl needs to be arranged to handle problems, because it would be extra effective egocentric to objective for a toddler, then locate out it has a affliction and not save it purely with the aid of fact she's in her 40's.

It is chancy but normal babies have been born at this age. 25 -35 is a good age. It also gives the parents some time to have lived alone without being tied down to a child.

After 40 the chances of having a child with down syndrome increase a lot. Of course it's not guaranteed and many women have had children that were fine, but it's a risk.

It depends on the woman. When a woman officially can't handle holding a baby she will go through menopause, but there are many 40 year old women who have had perfectly fine babies.

45 is NOT too old to have a happy healthy baby! Consult your doctor if you feel like you personally aren't in good condition physically to have a child....but as far as just plain old age being a rule-out factor......nah....
