So yea, I guess I wasn't too clear before, but I got into the club that was for 18 and older. I never showed them an ID at all, because someone knew someone that just got us in, and because we didn't have x's on our hands, the bartenders assumed we were 21 and served us. The ABC cops gave me a ticket, and they told me all I had to do was go to the court date, and talk to the probation officer. He acted like I would get community service or something and it would be dismissed. I was just wondering if it would ALWAYS be on my record, and what kind of affect this would have on things in the future. Will future jobs find out? medical school? I just have no idea. Thank you anyone who answers!!

It will always be on your record unless you can eventually get it expunged.

It will only effect jobs which do background checks. Even then it's just a Drinking Under Age offense. That infraction by itself is hardly enough to cause any problems. If you get charged again that's a different story. At that point you would be establishing a pattern. But you are not at that point so don't worry.

Did you get busted twice? In your first question you knew the bouncer and you did get your hand stamped. I hope you are not charnging your story around because if you try that in court it will only make things more difficult.

Who all finds out about this is very hard to say. You may have gotten off very lucky, the bar however could be in a world of trouble (in the state I was a previous resident of and a Law Enforcement Officer contributing to a minor was a felony) Will this incident always be on your record? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on your age, the severity of the charge (misdemeanor or felony and to what degree)

It's also possible that when you appear before a judge it could get downgraded (kind of like a traffic ticket) if you have a decent attorney.

Some jobs these days will check your criminal history during the interview process. However, I really don't see a minor in possession by consumption charge haunting you all the way to your death bed if that's what you're concerned with. But, if a potential employer ever asks you chances are the know or they can find out so be honest. Again, you didn't kill someone or rob a liquor store. Learn your lesson and press on with life.

Well first off, you already knew before you went that is was illegal for you to do that. If you are 17, it could go on your record as a adult, in some states. If they put you on probation, could very well be known by people that you wish did not know. Some time we have to suffer the consequences of breaking the law. Hope all works out okay for you, and hope you have learned a valuable lesson.

An event like this will always be on your record, however since you are a minor, you record will be locked upon turning 18. Regardless, an event like this will have little to no effect on your future. It didn't endanger yourself or others and was not a serious offense or felony. We all make mistakes. As you get older and thus farther away from this event, the less it makes any difference whatsoever.

If you enlist in the military or are arrested in the future they will know about this. Future employers won't really care that you did something stupid when you were 19, nor will medical school-as long as you don't make a habit of it.
That said-finding out about the consequences of our actions, are we? Maybe now you will remember-if you don't want to be caught in the act, don't do it. So, not fun,fun after all.

Underage dring is only a minor thing that doesnt matter. Here in Ireland I started drinkin with my mates at weekends when I was 13 and when I was 16 there were clubs in some parts of Belfast where we got in no problem. If the Police caught us drinking in the street all they did was confiscate our drink and the clubs we went to were in districts where the police would only enter in those days if they really had to and with a British army escort.

Just go through it and forget about it.You have a long way to go and no body ever got hurt in life by such small things done as a minor.
