Do atheists consider them as role models? I'm not sure if I spelled Neitschze right. You'll know who I'm talking about though.

Nietzsche was a 19th-century German philosopher. He wrote critiques of religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy, and science.

Voltaire was a French Enlightenment writer, essayist, deist and philosopher.

While not my role models, I do think you should read their work.

I'm only part way through "Beyond Good and Evil", the first Nietzsche book I've read, and have never read Voltaire, so I can't consider either of them role models.

Nietzsche probably wouldn't like me very much.
Frankly, I don't give a toss...

I mean... he villified Nihilism... but then he wasn't that far from it himself, in a manner of speaking.

I wouldn't consider him a role model by any stretch of the imagination.

I'd say if anyone, the key role-model for me was Zhuangzi. Ancient chinese philosopher.

I would hope not, they were very disturbed and depraved individuals. In addition to the fact their works were used to justify human atrocities.

I can think of far better Atheist role models (Asimov and Hawking to name two)

then those people.
