I was rushing home from a hard day of work about two months ago and i was going 90mph in the fastlane. I am a college student and really cant afford my insurance to go up, let alone the price of the ticket. I have learned my lesson and have not gone over 70mph since. How do i convice the judge to give me traffic school because it wasnt an option on my ticket and i really cant afford my insurance going up. please help a guy in need.

Talk to a law office that offers help for traffic violations. They may be able to get your fines reduced, and keep you from having your insurance raised.

Hello, I read your question and to be able to give you a correct answer I really need to know how fast you were over the speed limit? 90 in a ? and what state it occurred in. Let me give you some factors to be concerned about no matter what state it occurred in. First, the judge is going to ask about your driving history! Is it good or bad? How many points do you have? Have you ever been at fault in an accident? if so, were there any injuries? This is going to be a major concern to the judge! If you are still good here with these questions, then things are not too bad. Lets consider now, what time of the day you were cought speeding. Was traffic at high volume? If not, this is a plus! What I'm attempting to do here, is let you see what the judge is going to be looking at! This way you will know what your defense could be? Now, lets assume you have a good driving history. The time of day was at low volume. You were polite & coorperative to the officer at the time of the stop. Appear in court in nice apparel, tie/dress. You can represent yourself but keep in mind, if your driving history is too bad, this is not a good ideal! If this is your first ticket or first in several years, when the assist-D.A. calls your name, walk up. The assist D.A. will ask, if you intend to represent yourself in this matter. If so, you will half to sign a waiver form stating that you wave the right to have an Attorney to repersent you. After this the D.A. will ask, How do you plea? I would plea " No contest " meaning, your not pleading guilty! and your not pleading, not guilty! Keep in mind all the factors we talked about, use what you can? First ticket or first in ? years, good driving history, polite & cooperative, if the traffic was light. You are attempting to get the judge to see the less, demeanor of the the situation to ask for a P.J.C. . Meaning " Prayer of judgment call " If the judge allowes this, the ticket will not go on your record but if you get another ticket within 3 yrs. both tickets will come against you at the same time! " Don't get another ticket " ! and in the mean time, no points, no insurance increase! You will pay a court cost! Theres no way around that. You will pay that no matter what! The cost is what ever is set by your county and depending what state you live in. I know this was a long answer but I attempted to let you see the whole deal! GOOD LUCK !

I don't no where your from but here in Florida when you get a ticket you have a choice to either go to court or go to driving school. Why would you want to go to court, just sign up for driving school or have you waited to long to act on it. The officer who give me my ticket told me the best thing to do was to go to Blockbuster and rent the driving school tape you can take the test right in your home. You call the number on the tape and that lets them know you are taking the test.It takes 3 hrs and when you are done the test, you call the number and tell them you have finished and within 2 minutes they tell you if you past or failed. I past and received my papers in the mail one week later saying i past the drive test and that was it,no points just the coat of renting the tape and a small fine of $50 i payed. This just happened to me 8 months ago and nothing showed up on my driving license.

Few of us have an unblemished record, "Now ya one of us", The National safety councile gives the traffic school for a reduction in points of a ticket "OR" a 15% insurance reduction, Take it yourself, you don't need the judge to approve it !

You admit to going 40 5 in a 40 so which you have no longer any protection He would not would desire to coach his overhead lights on, they are activated to circulate site visitors in an emergency He would supply you a quotation on your mothers driveway. you are able to tell the choose something you desire, state your case, the city criminal expert will state the officers case. Whoever the choose believes will win. you should ask for a jury trial in case you desire, then you definately would desire to cajole 6 or 8 or 12 human beings.

Ask him if you can take traffic school, instead of paying the ticket. Usually they will let you. Good Luck.

I get the impression your insurance will go up anyway, and you should have thought of that before you drove at 90mph
