Hey I'm trying to book my honeymoon for next May and I'm quite taken with the idea of going to Cyprus. Because we are flying out on a Monday the flights are limited and so we can't get a package deal. I wondered if anyone else has tailor made their holiday to Cyprus and how they chose the hotel...could you recommend an ideal area of Cyprus/hotel/where to avoid etc? I have never been and have no idea about the country etc. Thank you!!

We went to Cyprus a few years back and stayed in the Cyprotel Posedonia hotel, Limassol, which was awesome.

I loved Cyprus. We were there for 10 days during early March and the weather was nice (very sunny but with a cool breeze) so going in May should be even better. One of the day trips we went on were up to the mountains in a Land Rover (tour guide) and there were some amazing sights on the way.

We will certainly go back some day. Have a look at the link below.

Best wishes

Try expedia.co.uk you can make your own holiday there but it may be a little pricey. Cyprus is beautiful and the people so friendly, I went with my family when I was 17 and we stayed in Ayia Napa, it was not so much a "party" town back then and the beach (Nisi Beach) is really beautiful. Paphos is a very nice town, a little quieter, the harbour area os very pretty and there are nice pubs and restaurants. I went on a day trip to the capital city and did not enjoy that so much as it was so hot, and I believe now you can also stay in Famagusta, when I went to Cyprus that area of the island was closed off and guarded by soldiers, no one lived there but I recently saw holidays advertised for Famagusta, we looked through binoculars and the beaches there looked fabulous. I am sorry I can't recommend a hotel by name as it was 14 years ago that I visited Cyprus, I doubt the place I stayed in would still be open. Good luck and enjoy!

I use this company all the time. Very reliable and keenly priced. They also arrange transfers. Most of the hotels have a range of photos. I choose the lowest priced 4 or 5 stars and have never been disappointed.
