Paypal is still better than using a check or money order because you don't know if the seller is legitimate. He/she could just keep your money. A good way to buy something on Ebay is to use your credit card through Paypal. At least you have some fraud protection. But since your credit card limit isn't high enough, that isn't an option. I would only buy expensive items like a motorcycle in person. Only bid through Ebay if you are going to pick up the item and pay for the item at pick up. The seller sets up the payment terms, so make sure the listing indicates that you have that option.

By the way, if you want to know a way to get back money every time you buy something from Ebay, then send me an email.

You never give your personal information to any seller. You can set up Paypal to pay from your bank account or credit card. Heavy items are often not shipped. When buying large ticket items, be very careful. There are scammers on ebay just like they are everywhere. Never buy from someone that approaches you to buy off ebay. I have had a couple of bad experiences and ebay stepped up and helped me out. I bid on a very expensive camera and got it for a pittance. It was too good to be true and I did not pay immediately but emailed the seller. I got an email back that he was not the seller and someone was using his info. Then I was approached to buy offsite and I turned his b*tt in. If I had paid, I would have lost it all. I always email every seller now and don't seriously bid until I hear back. I use paypal for a great deal of things. Ebay and paypal offer protection. I would advise you to use it.
