Superheated steam requires a superheat boiler, ie a boiler with a superheater built in. Also, when the pressure of the steam is dropped as it is in a vacuum chamber, the temperature is the same and it becomes superheated at the lower pressure when it goes through the nozzle and is no longer saturated. Superheated steam is used for high speed turbines where the admission of wet particles would cause a dangerous out of balance condition. Also, keeping steam superheated requires more combustion fuel, special piping and heavier insulation.
