I'm not sure about Texas laws concerning child support, but most states will not allow a parent to jsut sign over their rights because they decided that they don't want to be a parent. He is still responsible for paying child support no matter what. If you were to get married and the man you married wants to adopt, your baby's dad would have to give his permission for the adoption. Other than adoption, or having the courts take away parental rights due to abuse/neglect, that is the only way to do it.

childsupport can be granted through the courts and I always tell people if you aren't married and/or living together childsupport should be started. My mom didn't go for support for me and that was her choice but people have to realize they need to take responsibility for their children even if they don't want to see them. He can't just sign over his rights and even if a court was to take his rights away he may still be required to pay childsupport unless the child is adopted.

He can sign his rights away if he wants to but if he doesn't the courts might ask you the placement and custody and him rights to see the child and will take child support any way just because he does not support the child. Don't worry you will win the case. I did.
