I've heard lots of conflicting answers from family and friends, so I just was really wondering if army training bases/units deploy? And what are the best ones?

Training bases don't deploy. And the cadre of those bases are usually formed from those who have already deployed so that they can pass on "lessons learned" to the trainees. As for the best ones, you have to factor in what theater of operations they are training people for. Desert warfare? Think Fort Irwin's National Training Center. Mountain warfare and cold weather? Fort Greeley, Alaska.
We are blessed with our geography in the U.S. If some tin-pot dictator wants to take us on, we can pretty well duplicate his neighborhood using our topography.

A lot of people going to IRAQ leave through Camp Shelby in Mississippi. Maybe you could google that base and see what all they do. I know they train ppl there too. I think my friend who went in 2004 said he was there training!

Why is this important? You wouldn't get to PICK which one you trained at!
