3.5 days is just enough for Hong Kong, you won't have a bit of time to go to Macau. Remember that going to Macau involves going to the ferry early in the morning getting a ticket, you need about an hour to Macau, you need to go through customs there, then you should plan about 5-6 hours walking around in Macau which is a lot smaller than Hong Kong and then you need an hour back to Hong Kong. Consider a whole day gone for a trip to Macau and that means you just don't have enough time. I'd stick with Hong Kong, go to Macau next time.

3.5 days is too short and not even enough to visit all the must-see attractions being offered in Hong Kong. But to satisfy your interest, start your journey with an entry to Hong Kong International Airport and then Take Off at Macau International Airport.
While in HK, spend at least one day in the outlaying island in Hong Kong, try taking the Trains, Buses and take the Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central to give you a closer good look at the Harbour. Take the Peak Tram to the PEAK - what you're going to experience up there will surely you won't forget for life.
Macau is cheaper than Hong Kong. However, hotel prices double and even the Ferries charge more on weekends. You'll find numerous Travel Agencies at the Shun Tak Center (the Macau Ferry Pier) at Sheung Wan, next MTR Station from Central, Hong Kong Island.
Macau is about 64 kilometers away from Hong Kong and it's about an hour trip by Ferries.
While in Macau, you can visit the Macau Tower. Definitely, it's the perfect place to give you an overlook in the whole city and then you may consider trying some of the breathtaking adventure/attractions in there featuring the - SKY JUMP! taking off from the outer rim of Macau Tower 233 meters aboveground.
Good Luck to you and have a nice trip!

As with most people would suggest, it is better to spend more time in HK. Macau is also good and quite the experience, but you don't need a whole lot of time in Macau, maybe just for a day or two. If you're a big fan of bungee jumping or casinos then you definitely have to check out Macau. Checking out Hong Kong's Disneyland would take one day, plus there's tons of places more to go and things to shop, so a lot more time should be reserved for HK.

Hong Kong has significantly to supply for your requirements as a guest, if you are coming here on business or for joy Hong Kong always features a place for you and with Hotelbye you could make it occur the trip to that city. Hong Kong is just a town of charm. The style of an international town, ethnic range and multicultural lifestyle have reached ab muscles key of Hong Kong's attractions. The Peak is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong however, not the only real one. The Giant Buddha, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Ocean Park are just a few of the girls of Hong Kong.

Better not, the number of days you have will be just nice in Hong Kong. Do take the tram and train to venture to outlying cities. Spend another session in Macau next time.

If you really want to go to Macau, to gamble or just to put one more place on your "I've been there" list, then go to Macau. Otherwise, don't bother. I think Hong Kong is a facinating place to spend 3.5 days. It is never a good idea to scour from city to city.

It takes a long time to go to Macau (you only have 3.5 days to spend). Macau is known for casinos and the place is really small. I mean...it should be a nice place to visit but not for a 3.5 day trip! 3.5 days is not even enough for visiting HK.

For me? if you will be spending 3.5 days only in Hongkong, spend it all in hongkong because in hongkong there are lots of places you can enjoy. Just try macau some other time because going to macau is not that difficult going to hongkong. In hongkong you need to have visa stamped on your passport before entering their territoy, but in macau, all you need is to buy air ticket and your visa will be stamped upon arrival at macau immigration in the airport. You will be given 30 days stay starts from the day of your arrival.
