It sounds like you are getting semi-permanent haircolor put in. This is meant to wash out in about 8-10 shampoos. But if you are sure it's permanent, theres not much else you can do...some black hair colors have a purple or red color to them, so make sure you use the blackest black. As for how long you have to wait, you dont have to wait at all. You can dye your hair again anytime you want. Just remember that permanent hair colors will damage your hair alot worse than semi-permanent will. Good Luck!

There are permanent and non-permanent colours. They are basically the same except the permanent colour uses a fixing agent.

Normally, with a non-permanent colour it will fade over time as you wash your hair. Non-permanents are designed to let you try that hair colour, and if you don't like it is gone soon.

Some hairdressers are not very good, and will not dye your hair properly. Which is hard to believe, because it is very easy to read the chart and apply the dye.

Try a hairdresser that specialises in colour next time.

Also, maybe there is something about your hair that causes the problem. It is strange that it happenned twice.

The shampoo/ conditioner you use may strip some of the hair dye, if it's not a 'hair dye' friendly type of shampoo/conditioner. If you want the hair dye to stay in, you'll have to have to get permanent hair dye. I have to re-dye my hair once every 2-3 weeks since I have a semi permanent hair dye, i really wish HOT HOT pink came in permanent dye, oh well. In my opinion one week is a good waiting length period, well hope this helps and good luck!

Is it a permanent die? And how long did you wait until you got into the shower after dying because you're supposed to take on immediately afterwards to get excess die out. It might be the original color of your hair or the type of fie your using? I think you can die it again, my cousins die theirs once a week! Hope this helps!
