wat i mean to say is that... like say.. there is a media file.. how do i know that it can be opened with a DIVX player or a winamp... did u guyz out there get my question?? plz answer...thanks

On Windows, the extension of a filename determines the type of file it is. For example, .mpg files are video files and can be read by DivX, WIndows Media Player, CrapTime, etc. Basically just know the extensions and what they are.
