Do or DIE ( from all the push-ups you have to go for not being on time or not fast enough )
It really is all worth it at the end

How soon it takes to get use to military life depends on the person.
In some ways, I never got used to some of the stuff and I still hate to wake up early. But you do get used to much of the routine.
Boot camp is a culture shock, but it is not really that hard. Looking back, boot camp was alot easier that deployments and OPPEs.

I would recomend that you look into the lifestyle beyond the training. Training ends, the daily lifestyle extends beyond merely shooting, running, etc. You shouldnt look at how you are going to tolerate your existence in the military, you should look into how you will enjoy the parts of it that are more permanent. Look into the career positions that each has to offer. Find out what interests you, not what you can handle. If you apply yourself, you can deal with anything, human potential is far superior to the demands of any of these branches.

I'm in the Army but I worked with the other services, let me break it down from my 6 yr carrer.
Army - Great Guys and Girls with high tech weapons and the beret is very stylish (just kidding)
Marines-- They don't complain, and they are in great shape, never saw a fat body marine in my life.
Navy-- They have the shortest deployments, they did techinical stuff like medical and dental. Alot of Girls in that service.
National Guard.--Great guys, but there are alot of old people in that service. 36 yr old privates and 60 yr old SPC???
All of them are great, but this is from what I saw.
