I am getting married and going on a honeymoon to Italy right after the wedding. Will I have any problems with my current passport and my new married name?

You will have problems if you've booked your ticket under your married name. You should keep everything under your maiden name until you are able to submit the paperwork for your new name change - which usually can't even begin until a few weeks after the wedding to give time for the court to process everything. You need to keep your maiden name on your ticket to avoid any issues which might come up.

No you shouldn't have any problems because it takes a while to change your name. You have to notify social security and the DMV, as well as the passport people. You haven't changed your name yet the day after the wedding - even if your marriage certificate says so and you are planning to do so. All of your travel plans should be in your maiden name.

As long as you book your travel plans in your maiden name, it will be fine. It's not the wedding itself that legally changes your name. You have to have that done later, and it can take several days. You will still legally have your own name at that point, so plan accordingly.

I've worked in the airline business making reservations, and you wouldn't believe how many people make their honeymoon arrangements as Bob and Shirly Smith instead of Bob Smith and Shirley Brown, and then frantically call up and want to know why the security people won't let them through, because the name on their license doesn't match their ticket.

your married name will not be official until you file the paperwork for your driver's lisence and social security card, etc. for your honeymoon, you will legally travel with your maidne name, though you may choose to be called by your married name if anyone asks casually. go by your maidne name for customs and paperwork, it is much easier on everyone.

if you must go by your new name, take at least 2 copies of the marriage certificate with you.

No as long as your ticket, passport & visa are all in the same name you'll be fine. Maybe best to keep them all your maiden name until you get back.

Nah, you'll have your wedding certificate signed with you along with your passport just in case they ask any questions.

No, because your name won't officially be changed directly after your wedding. It won't change until you do so at the social security office. You won't have a problem. Congrats :)
