Hi Doug,
You might like to read a book called 'Journey of Souls' (or 'the Soul', can't remember) It has nothing to do with religion/Pagan but it was written by a hypnotherapist who had hundreds of clients who, under hypnosis, reported the same thing happening to them when they died in previous lives. Very interesting. The more you investigate this subject the more open to it you'll become.
And in answer to your first question: After life has nothing to do with what I know about in my Pagan ways in which I live. Whether I turn to dust, go to Heaven, Hell, Busch Gardens, or Summerland is of absolutely no consequence. We do not live this life in 'hopes of'- nor 'fear of'. We live it in each and every precious magical moment of life itself. And in respect of all that sustains, touches and moves us in life. We chose not to waste this gift of life by living in the past (guilt) nor fearing the future. Life only exist in the now.
Lovely question, thank you.
Blessed Be

there actually are many pagans who do not believe in, or do not count on the existence of an afterlife. i was like that most of the time i've been pagan, but i'm pretty faithful now that reincarnation is real.
i'm not banking on it, and i don't practice my faith in the prospect that i will be rewarded. this is the place for reflection, this is where you have to resolve your issues.

Wicca is not JUST about Faith it's about a way of life that is in harmony with the universe around us. Even IF goddes and god are NOT real at all, the Universe IS and I find that the way of a Witch is in complete harmony with the world around us. Wicca teaches us how to take care of our world and our environment while STILL being able to take from the world what we needs to survive and exist in our day to day lives. ALL else is irrelevant.

If there was no after-life, I would still be Pagan. The after-life wasn't what attracted me to Paganism in the first place!

The presence or lack of an afterlife would not affect my faith (I'm Wiccan) as my religion is concerned with NOW.

Yes---I would "still believe in my Faith". If you are "not receptive of this notion" then that's okay---go your own way and Goddess Bless you!
