some many people are judges others by their physical appearance.

when it comes to looking for someone to date, who's physical appearance is being judged harsher, men or women?

do you even take physical appearance into consideration when deciding whether or not someone is worth dating?

do you think men or women are more apt to dismiss a person's apearance when looking for someone to date?

sorry for some many questions. i'm just curious to hear people's responses.

it can be what draws you at first but if there isn't a good kind personality to match it then that's all they are . . a pretty/handsome appearance
They would have to have both if I were to date them
men & women I think both judge by appearance
I am both, like some others
interesting question

We all consciously judge each other by physical traits all the time. You don't have to admit it but it is true. Now, who does it more, men or women? Well, it depends on many things everyone is different. Overall I believe women are judged more harshly. Not only do men factor in physical traits, we look at clothes and scrutinize more unimportant details, does she dress like a hooker, or a royal bi$^h? Women look at these things too, but they often seem to be worried about other things such as personality and "niceness" I guess you could say. Men are much more into the physical aspect of the relationship I believe.

I think men and women bash each other equally when it comes to appearance. There has to be some of that in order to attract or be attracted to the opposite sex. It's what opens the door slightly. In the end, those are not that concerned about looks, will based their affection for someone on their character and individual characteristics. In addition, we all have qualities that we look for.

Most of the time naturally good looking people tend to be more picky, mainly because they feel they can. It's like a rich man saying, I'm not going to buy just any car, I want something good for my money.

My husband asked me yesterday: how come I never dated good looking men. He asked .....of all the guys you dated before me, I never thought they looked good at all.

Why?

Well, I am not bad looking. Goodlooking to some. But I never put looks in the top 3 or 5. No particular reason, except that I have other things that are more attractive to me....like intelligence, humor, education, character.

Now there is nothing wrong with good looking. But sometimes I think you get further in life looking from the inside out.

My husband is quite cute....to me. And that is how it is for me...I find a man that is good on the inside...and the longer I know him, the better looking he gets.

Wouldn't trade my man for a hot looking guy ever.

i think physical apperance is important for both sexes. Of course, people are going to want to be attracted to someone they are dating..since dating means physical involvement :)
