There's actually a book out called, "Why men hate going to church". Our pastor has been going through it with the elders at elders meetings. The gist of the book says that a lot of guys hate going to church because churches have so feminized their services that it's not of interest to most alpha male types. The songs are often 'love songs' instead of songs about the power of God, the blood of Christ or victory type songs, which are more appealing to guys. Many times the sermons are geared towards women, "How to have a happy marriage", instead of who we are in Christ or the authority of God the Father. Activities also include things like potlucks and bake sales, instead of camping with the guys, or fishing fellowship afternoons. So many times guys think of church as a girl's place, and would much rather do something more manly.

I don't know about you or the rest of the responders, but I hate going to church because I realized years ago that religion is complete bullsh*t. So now I don't go.

The guy behind the pulpit doesn't know any more than you do. You are just honest enough to admit it.

Do yourself a favor. Skip church, sleep in. Watch the football games instead.

Because a large amount of men who do go to church are effeminate, and gossipy.

I prefer to watch football, or mow the lawn rather than listening to a bunch of cowering men chat about weaknesses and sins.

You are talking to the wrong man.
I love going to church, if church is to be understood in the Biblical sense of the place where God's people assemble together in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the fellowship and power of the Holy Spirit to worship and experience the presence of God the Father and to hear His word proclaimed.
