I heard that the Army buys homes from soldiers if they cant sell it. I have not found any information on this, is this true? That would be great, but I am sure that it is a slim chance. Anyone know any information about this?

i never heard of that, honestly. i was in the military for 10 years and worked with at least a dozen people who were heavily into buying and selling homes; none of them ever mentioned it and i never heard anyone talk about it. doesn't mean it doesn't exist. but sounds unlikely. they only thing i know is that sometimes if the house forecloses (not a good thing on your end) it might end up being the property of the army if the owner had had a VA loan. not the same thing as the army buying the home tho. they just end up with it, like the bank.

Yes and No.

The Army will only buy homes in areas that a base is going to close. And that is if you bought the house before the base/post was named to be closed.

You would need to contact the Army Corp. of Engineers.

Unless you're each prime rating NCO's and are very well at dealing with/handling your cash and charges, NO! It quite makes no change what field you reside in, three hundred grand is three hundred grand and the one factor so they can make a change within the fee quantity might be the kind of mortgage, (30 year constant, ARM, and many others) Good success!

Nope. The closest any of the military services gets to financial involvement in civilian housing stock is long-term leases with certain apartment complexes to ensure a supply of housing for married personnel.
