First, there are no front lines in Iraq.

Second, a woman CAN join the USMC and train to be just about anything a man be. (Some exceptions apply. I'm talking about being on the front lines.)

Did you ever see the tv show Iraq? You better start watching it, and the Military Channel. You can be a marine, trust me. You just can't be in special forces units like Delta Force.

Btw, i don't mean to burst your bubble, but women are quite inneffective in combat. You might be the toughest son of a ***** on the block, so don't take my word for it, but i don't recommend you going towards a combat unit. Research areas like Aircraft Carriers. They sound like a lot of fun. :P If you're not the person that cleans the toilets, that is.

In the Air Force to get combat experience as a female the only thing you can be is a SF (Air Force Military Police) I have seen a lot of female SF go out on convoy escort duty as gunners. In fact about a month ago I went from A place close to Kuwait to a place about two hours north and Two of the Gun Truck Gunners were Air Force females Very attractive ones to.

Lets start with Helicopter Pilot. Then there is Jet Pilot, then there is Combat Camera, and, oh yes, every woman on board an American Man of War.
If you are really interested in a good career that may lead you to combat, ask an Air Force recruiter about Broadcaster/Combat Camera as a career field.

I'm in the AF. I don't know what a CRO is other than change of reporting official. We have women fighter pilots. We have women SPs. The AF is the most liberal when it comes to women in combat. However, you need to define "in combat." Being a contracting official and getting shot at is in combat. We have many folks in the AF in the AOR getting shot at and in combat. Do you want to "charge a hill" or just be in the AOR and be in on the action?

There are women Fighter Jet Pilots, women in Combat. They can go right up to the Front lines. Many Women have been killed in the RV's, in the Middle East. Nurses , Doctors, right up near the Front Lines. So there are women who get close up to the Combat area's. Women Helicopter Pilots, that carry Soldiers into danger area's. So there are many women killed already, from being in Combat. You need to do more search. Women are allowed in the Airforce.

For the Navy and Air Force you have to be an officer and fly either fighters or bombers, in the Army or the Marines MP would be the way to go. When I was in Afghanistan we always had at least one female MP with us on patrol to search local females.

Close enough to become a Prisoner of War or be shot in an ambush. Just ask Jessica Lynch, remember her? How soon we forget. Sad

Military Police ^_^ . 5811. Field MP's are the shiznit, trust me you do a lot of cool stuff. You are always doing something, (mp stands for multi purpose so get used to doing more then one job while your out in the field) but I'm a little biased.

Don't be an MP, you will only be a glorified gate guard.

The closest you could be is a Field Medic or Maintenance, etc. Ask your recruiter.
