I do not need anything real high tech, but something that does a little bit more than my current Sony Cybershot that is about 3-4 years old.

Check out the Canon PowerShot G7. 10mp, optical viewfinder. Excellent review in Sept. issue of Shutterbug magazine. You can read it at shutterbug.com - just search for the camera by name.

If you like Sony, then buy Sony. They are a well made camera.
