My daddy is forcing me, against my will, to go to a boarding school for "teens that need attitude adjustments" I was reflecting upon the past year, and let's just call a spade a spade here, I was DISGUSTED with the education provided by our local public school system in Texas over the past few years. The problems included mediocre, sem-literate teachers, trailer trash school administrators, overweight students, decrepit facilities, and non-creative and physically abusive disciplinary methods. I often reminded my principal that I was not opposed to SUING but he laughed at me, spit up his tobacco and then would call ("drawl") my daddy to pick my SPOILED $SS up and take me home and DEAL WITH ME. This is the kind of arrogance I find to be EXTREMELY offensive. I have told my daddy I'd like to call the school office and EXPRESS MY DISGUST, but daddy told me to leave these "poor people alone" and not to be a PAIN IN THE $SS or he will "return the favor"
Should I call them anyways?

Texas' Schools Board of Education, give them a call, voice your concerns.

Rather than call, I would express my opinion in writing. Lay out specific examples of what you experienced (but don't mention people by name) so you can show how you were affected and not seem like you're just complaining. It show maturity and allows you to get your point across without heading off on a tangent (which can happen in a conversation when emotions are involved).
Decide what your purpose is - a personal grudge or do you want to use your experience to make sure other don't have to go through the same things you do? If given the choice, would you return to the school? If so, why?
If you want the larger community to become aware of problems in the school system, I would also send the letter to the local newspaper, the school board, the PTA and any education awareness organizations.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I would STRONGLY suggest that you start keeping a Diary or a Personal Journal for yourself.
VENT EVERYTHING THERE!!!
You need to get all of the disgust/frustration/whatever out of your system and the new school probably will not tolerate public displays.
You are being sent to a school that will "adjust your attitude"... FINE!!
Keep a written record of your feelings that you can refer back to in a few years and see if your attitudes actually change or whether the whole thing is a waste of time.

Gosh, I feel your pain. I personally wouldn't call the school, and express my disgust, but I would talk to my dad about it. But then again, that's just me. But um, honestly? TALK TO YOUR DAD ABOUT IT. No one deserves to be in a place like this. And if he doesn't do anything about it, then I would march right up to those school officials and say something, but politely. (lol, I know, I can be excessively polite). Whatever it is, you shouldn't have to put up with it. Be a rebel! Nah, jk. But seriously, talk to someone about this. If you called the school however, you might POSSIBLY face some hostility if you were rude. Anyway...Talk to your dad first. Not the school. if that doesn't work, call the school, but tell them calmly.
I hope this helps, and good luck! =]
---EDIT---
I do agree with Halli about the writing. And now I'm just beginning to realize that if you DO call, you would face the danger of getting into a whole lot of trouble. You really don't want that, do you? Anyway...I do hope you get out of this school someday.
By the way...you've got a pretty impressive vocabulary. lol =]

Sounds like my school. Except I don't live in Texas. No don't call them cuz then you'll just be in a whole lot of trouble. I stuck it out but it was really hard. I'm not gonna make up crap saying oh you will be fine cuz you won't be. I wanted to strangle no I Still want to strangle everyone in that god foresaken school. But if i didn't stick it out I was going to an all girl prep school and I can't stand drama and catiness. So I stayed quiet the rest of my time there and got through it. I didnt' talk to anyone unless I absolutely had too and that was about the only advice I can give you.

Read your post again and if you still dont get it have a neutral party read it and ask them what they think of the person who wrote it. You will be treated in the way in which you treat others. Im not your father or your mother but I see something that needs to change and if it doesnt you will find the world is a lonely and cold place. Sometimes we are not happy with our circumstances but those can change with time.....first impressions of who we are by our peers are not so easily changed.

It sounds like you may be better off in the boarding school. You may meet more sophisticated people and get a much better education. if you do complain, it should be in writing to the superintendent of schools and cc the school board. use dates if you can and use specific examples of poor behavior, steer clear of personal attacks, they will not take that seriously.

I know what you mean. My old English teacher didn't know where to use apostrophes. Hopefully your new school will have better facilities. I suggest you should either move on and forget about your old school or write a letter of your concern, this way it will a formal complaint. I wouldn't suggest the later unless you have your father's support.
Have a nice day.

Why should you? The only thing it will do is prove they're right about you having to win. That's what 'spoiled' is about. Your Dad is going to pay good bucks for you to go to a school that doesn't have the flaws you highlighted. Be grateful. This is your chance to prove you're right.
