So a recent question asked "who said this quote" and it was a quote by Darwin saying there is no record of one species changing from one to another...and "science geek" gave this GREAT answer!!!

"SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY. You feeble minded pathetic excuses for rationale beings are making me sick with these constant attacks with the same crappy ammo. Go fondle your bible, a local altar boy, or if she can stand your pale, flimsy torso, your wife/ girlfriend/ boyfriend."

Man...don't you guys just LOVE how people still see the words of Darwin(who had the theory of evoltuion) as "the same crappy ammo"...I had never heard that quote before, and upon googling it, many places have it, and it's in a book by Darwin so Christians didn't just make it up.

Agree/disagree that science geek even knew that the qute was by darwin but just would rather attack Christians?

Wait... I guess what I should have asked was...instead of "even though he knew he still wanted to attack us" should be "do you think he even knew who said it?"

What you've found are page after page of google results of Christians reinforcing each other with an inaccurate quote. Look it up on talkorigins.org and you'll find the actual quote which both differs with the Christian version and explains why, despite not yet observing speciation, he considered the evidence compelling.

Quotes from Darwin admitting not knowing things would be devestating to Evolution if Evolution were a religion. in that case, Evolution would be based upon the authoritative pronouncements of prophets. But it isn't, it's based on study and research. Since most of the study and research regarding evolution has come long after Darwin's death, that Darwin didn't yet know certain facts doesn't mean that we don't have voluminous evidence for them now. Remember the 20th century? You'd be surprised at how much we learned then.

On this particular issue, observed speciation, we have, indeed, seen it. So there goes the argument-from-Darwin's- ignorance approach.

it is the same BS ammo.

evolution as seen by Darwin is MUCH different that what we believe today. the theory has expanded as more has been learned about biology and science.

our dateing techniques and understanding of past civilizations has increased over 100 times what it was in darwin's time.

but everything that christians use as "facts" to try to disprove evolution is information that was obsolete almost 100 years ago. in basic they use theories and beliefs that modern science has already rejected and moved on.

the science of evolution on a biological scale is a fact. and we find new evidence every day that shows human evolution from one type of human to another. trus there is no link to a previous sub-type of animal. but by that time you are entering a 1 million year time period when the conditions of the planet simply did not create many fossils.

Given that the quote was fictitious and it is easy to document the fabricated quote's history, he got off lightly.

The quote:
"Not one change of species into another is on record...we cannot prove that a single species has been changed."

The second half of the quote can be found in a book "The Life and Letters of Charles Darwin" published by Charles Darwin's son. Most Creationist websites attribute this quote to a fictional book by Charles Darwin entitled My Life and Letters.

Unfortunately we live in an age of "fundamentalism" (in the contemporary, fanatic, closed minded sense of the word). If you contradict any of the fundamentalist's dearly held beliefs, you will be yelled at, insulted, told to shut up, etc. So if you even dare question the prevailing theory of evolution (I could even get into trouble for using the word "theory"), people will scream at you.
It is generally a sign of insecurity.

I am the dude that posted the question about the quote. I just wanted to see who really studied Darwin and such. It wasn't my intentions to get people all mad or worked up. I am studying both sides of this evolution and creation thing. I just wish sometimes people could only answer questions they actually knew the answer too.

You just don't understand theories or how the scientific method works.

It was in Origin of Species, published in 1859, however in The Descent of Man, published 12 years later in 1871, he states:

"Man with all his noble qualities...still bears in his bodily frame the indelible stamp of his lowly origin."

And in an earlier chapter, on man's probable ancestors:

"A hairy quadruped, furnished with a tail and pointed ears, probably arboreal in its habits."

Which sounds pretty much like a chimp or other great ape (except the tail, of course). So Darwin was as confused as the rest of the world at the time but at least was trying to make some sense of what he saw, rather than blindly accepting faith and dogma.

What makes you expect he had all the answers right off the bat? We still don't understand it all.

Like I said when I answered it, the quote is dated so meaningless. It is used out of context in a feeble attempt to argue against an established fact.

It is just boring answering the same moronic questions about things that have nothing to do with the real issue.

I am not that sure of what your question is but I will say that in the Bible it says that "All will listen but few will hear". Meaning all will hear the truth but most will choose not to believe the truth.....

Just think about that for the rest of the night.

And so, like a TRUE Cristian, you decide a personal attack and a slur against all atheists is in order. How very, very Christian of you.
Have a brick in your face.
