Jose the u.s. shouldnt be fighting wars because of oil or any other comodity. we went into iraq to fight them because they attacked our country. as far as im concerned they should have pulled out long ago. they brought justice by proscuting hussein and now we are still trying to help them get on their feet. its time they start taking back their country so they can live better. it isn't about winning or losing its all about freedom and the right to live that way.

Probably because they never fought a war with Angola. There was some of the usual Cold War proxy conflict going on in Angola, and the former Soviet proxies are still dominant the last I heard, so you could consider that a 'lost battle' of the Cold War, if you wanted to stretch the point.

How do you figure that America lost the war in Angola? We never sent troops there, we just supplied UNITA. And UNITA did not give up the rebellion until years after Cuban troops left.
So if you think America was defeated in Angola, then Cuba was defeated first.

Robertico. The only people who lost in Angola, were the Angolan people themseleves, who were murdered on a grand scale in typical African civil war style and encouraged by countries like Cuba.
You should not be proud of that.

the reason cons nevertheless think of Bush can win this warfare is with the help of the fact they have not got any clue as to what is going on in Iraq and what's at the back of each and all the violence in that usa good now. They nevertheless think of it relatively is Al Queda. it relatively is outstanding how unbelievably uninformed they're. there became an incredible frontline application in this previous week thoroughly laying out what became happening in Iraq. Petraeous became interviewed alongside with alot of different generals and that they've been going into what became somewhat happening and why the Iraqie government wasn't making any progression in taking over their own usa. It became with the aid of fact they have not had administration over it from the commencing up. it relatively is the muslim clerics controlling the violence and killings. The Iraq government is vulnerable. The Iraq militia and police are controlled with the aid of the Shiite muslim cleric, Sadr. And, he controls the place of work of the interior who's administered with the aid of a Shiite muslim unswerving to him. The place of work of the interior oversees the police and militia. Out of this has progressed dying squads going into Sunni neighborhoods killing Sunnis purely for being Sunni. it relatively is a civil warfare. it relatively is not in our palms. Over eighty% of the Iraqies, Sunni and Shiite, want us out of their usa. i do no longer think our squaddies might desire to be loss of life for Iraqies or Muslim extremist clerics. it relatively is been time to choose for a protracted time. Now greater effective than ever. it relatively is a no win concern and has been doomed that from the commencing up. Sorry persons, yet it relatively is the actuality of it.

Perhaps you would care to tell us how many Cuban troops came home from Angola with AIDS, and how many of their own people they infected before Castro had them confined to "Military Hospitals"!!
The Cubans were there to help the Soviets out, there were no dedicated American troops on the ground in Angola,

Unfortunately Angola was not "lost" by America, but taken over by the Soviet Union, using your country (Cuba) as its tool. I feel sorry for the Angolan people, as when the Soviet Union broke up, foreign aid etc. dried up, leaving the people of Angola lacking the funds, infrastructure etc. to make a viable economy in their country, leading to it's present state of anarchy and decay. I would suggest you speak to some of the Angolan Vets in Cuba who fought there, I am sure they did not count it as a "victory for communism". A difficult and sad time for all the countries in Africa.

American lose wars because they don't matter to us. I guess I should say, the goal we are trying to reach is not popular enough to stomach any deaths over it.
But make no mistake about it, America is by a long shot the most powerful nation on earth and if we ever had to fight a war without two hands tied behind our backs and a ball-abd-chain tied to our ankle, that country would cease to exist, period.

Because the chickenshit cubans picked a good time to get involved in angola because they knew we were preoccupied with getting out of 'Nam and didnt have the support to give the UNITA.
Besides, in the fighting between the UNITA and MPLA, there wasnt a victor or looser, even with 36000 cuban troops backed by the USSR. So take your, "america lost in angola" crap and shove it up your cuban cigar.
