Last I seen one it was on the shelf next to the muffler bearings.
I actually had to stop on a trip once and replace the radiator cap on my 64 bug, it was leaking severly and I was loosing my coolant rather quickly thus causing my engine to overheat. That was my 2.3.
I suppose I will just use the standard old Ford radiator cap on my 66 bug, that should hold the coolant in just fine. Keep that small block running nice and cool. My 70 however seems to be missing the radiator cap but I do have a problem with the cooling fan at this moment. I think the keyway is sheered because I can move the fan back and forth with my hand while the generator stays motionless and it makes alot of noise when it is idleing. Maybe I should just can it and drop in something a little more gutsy that also takes a radiator cap. Na, that one stays VW all the way, well almost all the way.
Thought you were being funny didn't you?

I sell auto parts for a living.
In my store, we keep them right next to the Corvair radiators & the left-handed screwdrivers.
They don't have radiator caps, however, they DO have thermostats

On my '70 Beetle it's right next to the PNEUMATIC FLUID reservoir.
You sound like a clever girl... I'm sure you'll eventually find it.
